After seeing the diagram of the unreleased VB shoulder harness, I wanted to try making my own. It’s different in design to the patent but has the same basic principle. It’s a bit over-engineered but has maximum adjustability (turn the positioning bolts to move the VB up/down and forward/back).

It’s nearly there, it just needs a proper neck strap and more padding (right now it’s a little uncomfortable where the harness sits on the chest, since that’s where all the weight is). Oh, and a spiffy red/black paint job!

Wow that’s a really cool design! It does resemble the patent but I don’t think I’d personally ever wield it. 🙂

Looks like something you’d see in a mental institute.

… Just kidding, it’s really neat, better than anything I could have engineered.

Sweet….TerryJ this is seriously cool. Kudos. Any plans to manufacture and sell?

It looks like the SAW face trap thingy. Pretty cool.

Awesome stuff, I usually just rest the stand on my arms because the position of holding a controller underneath works. I may build something simple in the future. great Job!

Kudos on the shoulder strap! I couldn’t make anything half as functional, let alone that good looking. Have you contemplated painting it to make it match the original stand or are you just gonna leave this one?

Thanks for the feedback- I’m already working on an improved second version. Once it’s done it will indeed have a red/black color scheme!

I wasn’t originally planning on making more, but if there’s demand I certainly would consider selling them. Once I finish making the improved version I’ll add up the cost of materials to come up with a baseline price.

Woah. Looks hardcore.

You should consider putting some soft material where it rests on your shoulders! 🙂
