Ok for a while now we have focused on the absoulute worst games. Why don’t we focus on something positive. So often we have seen games where the ending was the worst part of the game. Let’s talk about the exception, what are some of the most memorable endings you have ever played and why.
Final Fantasy VI
Very long, shows every character getting out and gives them a little closure each. Beautiful music, imagery, all-around amazing.
Grand Theft Auto Vice City
Tommy has taken over, Vice City is at his mercy! (too bad there’s little to do now that the missions are done, but still)
Some favourites of mine are:
Streets of Rage 2 – great ending cinematic montage
Street Fighter 2′ – love the no continues special reel remix
The music was best on the arcade version of course:
Revenge of Shinobi – I love the music all through, the ending is special:
Shinobi III’s is even more special:

I even like the beta’s ending:
Gimmick! – absolutely beautiful famicom game, lots of charm:
Starfox ending – great roundup of all you’ve gone through:
But I think this might be my favourite of all these (more to follow):
Mickey & Donald World of Illusion – easy but amazing game:

I have been racking my brain to think of endings I enjoyed and honestly I don’t remember most of them, but one does stick in my head, so maybe not the best ending but it certainly is the most memorable:
House of the Dead Overkill (Wii)
Disturbing, funny, odd, but you definitely won’t forget it if you see it.
I really liked the ending of “Heavy Rain”. Well… the one I played.
My favorite ending of any video game would have to be Metal Gear Solid 4. Played every game in the series right before playing to get ready for it, and the end of 4 just seemed to fit perfectly. Even referenced the MSX games a bit, which was awesome.
I also really love the ending to Super Metroid. So awesome.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Everything about that game rocked.
