American or Japanese games ?

I know you can play games from Japan on the US virtual boy. But, are there any Japanese games that wouldn’t be as well understood ? I’m waiting for pinball atm. When I ordered it, I ordered the japanese version, is there a story line in the game that will be in japanese ? Are there any games that I might have a hard time following the Japanese text ? Also, does one version of the game seem to be valued more ?
