i’ve neen into virtual boy for a long time now. i bought one when it first came out and have almost every game for it. i used to have a virtual boy website about 10 years ago but its dead and gone now. I also used to be a decent part of the ebay scene. I sold whatever extra rares I had so other people could make good use of it. Now i’m hoping to get a little help back from the VB community.

I haven’t bothered with VB much in the last couple of years but I was reminded of it lately when I came across an old pair of sunglasses I won from a Tetris Attack event when the game first came out. They are black plastic and say ‘Virtual Boy’ on the sides of them. Theyre pretty cool.

I’m not too involved in the emulation scene. I understand how it all works, but I dont have a source for the roms. I see that you can download them off this site if you’ve been here for 6+ months and have 10 posts, but is there any way we can work around that? I think this site is great and it has so much information. Its basically a new and improved version of my old site, which got no hits since it was on geocities…lol

So anyway, can you guys help me out. I really want to get this stuff going on my PSP and on my PC as well. It goes without saying, but I would really appreciate it.

Hi jojobean,

Well, 6 months isn’t so much. I have to wait 12 months to get my N95 8GB unlocked from Vodafone πŸ˜› Nonetheless, there are several ROM sites which have VB ROMs. Just google a bit ;-P

in the grand scheme of things its not, but its kind of hard for the time being. i’ll search around some sites but most of them are nothing but dead links. i did find most the games i needed, though.

on a related note. are there roms out of virtual lab or sd gundam? i doubt it but would like to dream.

No, no ROMs for those, nor Space Invaders, Virtual Bowling nor any prototypes, sorry. But honestly, IMO, with the games there are it’s more than enough, you aren’t missing much apart from Virtual Bowling and -in less degree- Space Invaders. I believe it’s the “human morbidity” of playing what nobody else can play πŸ˜›

im sure the games arent that great but it would be cool to play some ‘new’ ones. and like you said, humans love that rare stuff.

someone should buy this and rom it up:

virtual lab

i bet gundam is pretty fun since its a strategy game. and prototypes would be so perfect.

Gundam’s boring, to say something cute. It’s just a collector’s game. About the suggestion you make, I can suggest:

1.- You win the Virtual Lab auction πŸ˜‰
2.- You make one of these: http://www.virtual-boy.org/projectvb/dev/VBDumper.htm and carefully follow the instructions to dump the game.
3.- You share the Virtual Lab ROM in here.

As you said, it’s very simple πŸ˜€

P.S.: I’d also love to play prototypes, but let’s be realistic: you must be a Virtual Boy Guru or have millions of dollars AND real good contacts inside Nintendo to get access to one of those. I have neither of those qualities, so… I play Blox 😎

blox is fun. i only have played it on an emulator though. you should remake dragon hopper or finish that silent hill game.

oh yeah, i thought i should give some more perspective into my VB love. I had a few demo carts and display items from the stores, and almost all of the games, but times got tough and I had to sell most of it. I plan on buying all of that back again in the future. Also, I have always loved VB but I cant even see in 3D because i’m blind in one eye. Now that is love.
