I got a Virtual Boy recently, the left side dosen’t work at all, while the right one works. I know there are a bunch of methods found here on the site but can anyone tell me exactly what to do and what items i need to fix the VB? do i just simply solder a wire back? Please help me!

If you read this thread: http://www.planetvb.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=3295&forum=1 , it tells you exactly what you need. I’ve also got pictures and details for a couple methods on my site: http://www.projectvb.com/displayfix.html .

In that thread there’s also a link to: http://www.planetvb.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?post_id=8767 , which has a video of a guy just soldering the display (no chemicals or anything). It does work, but I personally find NaOH helps a lot.

I have a method that might work: The guy who sold me the VB had 2 VBs, each has the same problem except the one he currently has is a left only working one while mine is a right only working one, is it possible to buy that other VB(it wasnt costly at all, like 10 bucks) and replace the broken display with the working one. I would have 1 VB with no working display but 1 VB with both displays working, then i would attempt to use solder to fix the broken one.

That’s a tat much if you bought it with no games. Maybe the 10 dollar one was with stand, controller and power adapter and yours is working good and has the stand, power adapter and a controller (maybe a visor).
