Apparently a few processes on our server were frozen since yesterday which caused the blackout of PVB, Planet 3DS and Pokémon-Mini.net.

Now, after about 20 hours of downtime, we’re finally back online. No data was lost and everything should be back to normal. 🙂

After another night offline and a few phone calls, it turned out that we keep exceeding our process limit for a currently unknown reason. I will try to find out why this keeps happening. Let’s hope the site won’t be offline again tonight.

Great! I needed my virtual boy fix for the day! It sucked when the site was down!! I’m glad It’s back!

The site (from the time of this post, at least) is saying we all have -1 posts now… 😉

EDIT: except me, because I made one post and now it says I’ve made 0 posts!

Phew, i had a moment of mild panic as the timing of the site being down meant that when i checked at work it was offline, when i got home and checkled it was back, that happened twice, made me think our work IT had blocked my fav sites, it didn’t help that i left my work pc on the other night with opera still running and both sites open, but all is well and good, well i hope so and thanks for your efforts in keeping us up and running & informed Chris.

Sorry for the heart-stopping moments, Hedgetrimmer! 😉

Last week was a bit stressful with the site being up and down for 3 or 4 days in a row, but now everything seems to run smooth again.

I think it all was caused because I was forcing a fallback to PHP4 via .htaccess for compatability reasons. But it was actually only a few small fixes to get the site running on PHP5 and since I did this, there have been no more problem until now. Yay!

@gyf: Thanks for reporting! This keeps happening from time to time for unknown reasons, but I have a recount script for posts so everything was back to normal quickly after your post. 🙂
