I guess most people already have a Flashboy, but just in case that might be interesting for you:

In the same video I also show the other Flashcart from Richard Hutchinson for the Vectrex gaming system, the “VecMulti”.

Hilarious. πŸ˜€

Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching. πŸ˜‰

Your production quality is very good. I also like your comedic intros and outros.

Always quality coming from you VectrexRoli2! Every time I enjoy the information w/ the great humor, it’s terrific!:-)

Once again, great video!

You’ve got me interested in the Vectrex actually..

Thanks guys.
The Vectrex and the Virtual Boy are similiar in a sense that they are very unique systems and they both have their own display unit. The Vectrex had also a 3D add on which is pretty cool.
BTW, the lady sitting on the left side, Renate, she is addicted to Galactic Pinball. I always have to give her the Virtual Boy for that when she comes for a visit. πŸ™‚

Has she tried space pinball yet ? πŸ™‚

Not yet, we didnΒ΄t have time for that, but I will surprise her for sure with those “new levels” as I got even the nice looking repro cartridge.

Another great video. Made me chuckle.

I watched this video some time ago, however I just signed up and am getting the chance to tell you I really enjoyed it! I haven’t watched many of your German video’s yet, as it’s been a while since I took German 2, however I find all of them to be very entertaining and funny as well. Since you are into 3D in general you might look into getting a Fujifilm Finepix Real 3D W3. While I haven’t tested it with mine, you may be able to record the Virtual Boy in 3D with it. I don’t think it is as nice as the camera you are using, however it does have a 75mm Baseline Length.

Hi, thanks a lot for the information and also for signing up! πŸ™‚
Maybe I will keep an eye on that camera if I could get my hands on it for a cheaper used model at some point. Currently I am using a Virtual Boy with a video out mod and the quality is quite OK, but the footage is only in 2D. The question is then what would be better, good quality in 2D or worse quality in 3D?
πŸ˜‰

I’d actually say both! πŸ™‚ I was about to try recording some footage to see if it worked and both of my screens have just died in front of me. The thing about that camera is that the lenses are about the same distance as our eyes and the screen is like that of the 3DS, so you may be able to play and record all in 3D. My thoughts are that it may work with the Vectex as well with some rigging, although I don’t have one of those yet to try out.

Another thing needed for recording footage from the Virtual Boy and Vectrex is control of the exposure time and many cameras donΒ΄t provide that feature in video mode. But it would be really interesting to see how that camera could handle that.

Yea, that is the part I am unsure about. Once I get my display fixed I will do some test’s and report back. I don’t have interest in doing video myself, but I figured it might be an interesting idea for others. πŸ™‚

I did finally get to try out recording video on my W3. I can say that it does work, although it is very time consuming to get it set up. While it isn’t the best video, the main positive point is that you can see what you are recording in 3D, making it easier to play and capture at the same time (versus a 2D camera.) It doesn’t look like they are dropping at all in price though, so ultimately I’m guessing your method is the better option.

Yes I guess so. I was checking out the camera data and some reviews a while ago, but there are many features missing compared to a real 3D video camera. I wanted to give it a try, but whenever I found one on the web it was still very expensive for such an old camera.

I agree, I should have looked up their current prices first, it was interesting to find out regardless. πŸ™‚

Fantastic review video good Sir! Informative and entertaining!

Thanks πŸ˜‰
