I thought I’d try my hand at making a better Castle of Doom game, so I spent a few hours making this test stage. I know it’s graphically underwhelming, but I’ll make it look better once I know it works fine. Please download this and let me know if you run into anything strange. Up is jump because I forgot which button in Mednafen is A. Left and right move the guy left and right.

Added a second level with an enemy. It’s supposed to be a bat. If you touch the bat, you start the room over again.

Why aren’t maps 0 and 3 showing up? Is my FlashBoy broken? What is going on here?

I’ve just decided to give up. This is too hard. Going back to Pineapple 64. At least it works.

If I were you I would make a game that has a menu system where you can pick from over 30 mini games of all genres
That way you can practice from shmups, rpg, fighting, racing, fps, sport, boardgame, puzzle game…

I finally fixed it so it works on real hardware!
One of the things that was bothering me was I didn’t know you have to set a World 31. And if you don’t set a World, the Worlds below it don’t show up. I’m surprised nobody told me this and I didn’t run into the problem when making Insecticide. So now I can move on with this project like I wanted to. Perhaps I will take akumie’s advice and make this part of a Virtual Boy version of Action 52.
