problems building Game Hero MIDI engine sample code

Hello! I have no idea if this is the right place at all to be asking this, but I wasn’t sure where else to turn. I’m a chiptune musician and have been trying to create some music using the Virtual Boy, so I downloaded the GH-MidiPlayer. I opened the example.c in VBE (which yes, I have set up correctly, as other sample code runs flawlessly) but when I attempt to build it, I get the following error:

I’m not really sure what I’ve done wrong as I haven’t really done…well, much of anything. Hopefully someone can help because I haven’t been able to find any information on this online…seems most people have zero issues building this project. I just wanna be able to play back music 🙁 thanks!
