Just wanted to properly introduce myself. About a month ago I purchased my first piece of virtual boy anything. It was a kiosk! I’d never seen one or even thought of owning one but I had to have it. It was the most recent one listed on EBay. When I bought it the light didn’t work and neither did the console. Half of the right advertisement holder was missing and it didn’t have any ads. It’s now been completely restored from top to bottom 😍 The only thing I’m missing missing is the left ad and the original key. Is there anyone out there that has the original lock and key and is willing to make me a copy? I’d greatly appreciate it andcover costs of course. Looking forward to hearing from everyone 🙂

Looks great! And after we get that little photoshop job done for the other side of the kiosk, you’ll have the image to put into the other side too!

I’m jealous af.
Looking good ! good job.

I’m also looking for a key for mine. Did you ever have any luck?

It’s just a mailbox lock. Should be easy to replace the whole thing. Won’t be the original key but…

You can just pay a locksmith 10 dollars, and they will make a key for the current lock.

We have scans of the ad’s on this site. I’d use those and go to a print shop with the other side. See if they can print out up something that looks correct for the other side.

How do you remove the old one though if it is locked shut?

There are 4 tiny bolts with hex heads located on the plate directly under the VB head unit. unscrew those and the VB will come off (don’t let it fall while you’re removing the bolts!). Then you’ll have full access to the lock.

Sorry, I haven’t checked the forums in a while and can’t even remember my old username, but I have several keys for this kiosk if anyone still needs one.
