I just purchased a complete Virtual Boy from a local listing, but unfortunately it is on the grosser side of things. What would be the best way of cleaning up the visor? I’ll most likely be wiping everything else down with isopropyl.

If you are talking about the black cloth cover. I am not sure the best way to clean it. I threw mine in the laundry machine, because the person I bought mine from was obviously a heavy smoker, and I wouldn’t recommend it. While it cleans it very well it caused some of the edges to fray.

I would recommend hand-washing with liquid laundry detergent if you have any. However, others might have some better ideas.

hope that helps,

Don’t use rubbing alcohol(isopropyl) on the visor! It eats the glue and the whole thing comes apart, I learned the hard way. The rest of the virtual boy it works fine, but don’t touch the cloth. Hopefully I caught you in time.

Nope! I would never use isopropyl on the visor, I’ve learned that isopropyl isn’t exactly the nicest to materials. I’m just using it on the unit itself.

You could probably toss it in the wash if you put it in something like a mesh bra bag; should give it some outer padding while still getting it properly clean.
