Hi everyone,

I need help. Please, check this image. I recently bought the AC adapter tap and the eye shade from a Japanese shop, and I got these items. Can anyone tell me if the AC adapter tap is the demo one or the commercial one? The image of the Virtual Boy drawn on the box is a “blocky” image, of quite low quality, and the VBoy unit shows a cable coming out from its left side (when you look towards the image, right side if you were to place the head in front of the unit). I have seen pics from the same item, and the Virtual Boy shown on the box is much more defined and has much more quality, and the cable coming out of the left of the virtual boy doesn’t appear. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

That’s definitely the mosaic box, but I’ve seen a lot of both the mosaic and non mosaic boxes. I’m not sure that either one is harder to find, or that one was meant to be a demo.

Thanks for the quick reply, DogP. Now that it’s clear, I’ll try to get the other one, but it’s risky, since you never know which one you will get 😛

if you can get both, i’d like a mosaic one for my collection, i only have the retail one. 😉

I think I’ve got a few… not sure what shipping would be. You gotta watch out though… the Japanese adapter and tap have a different connector than the US ones.

I have a brand new in box Japanese store display… I wonder which tap box it has.

Hmm… I can’t believe I never posted pics of this before… I got it for Christmas at least 3 or 4 years ago. It has the mosaic tap box (and of course VB system box). Feel free to use these images if you want.

DogP, are you selling that Jap display Virtual Boy?

VERY sexy! i wonder why you don’t post your collection, should be 120% complete, i guess? ;D

do you have the chance to scan in those instruction sheets?

I’m not looking to sell that display, although I think I’ve got an opened one that I’d sell. I can probably scan those instructions if you want… the full color one in the back of the stack is the standard Japanese system manual, correct? I assume you don’t need that scanned?

I’m not sure why I haven’t posted my whole collection… probably because it’s all over the place and I’ve never had it all in one room at once 😉 . Taking pics also takes effort, and I’m kinda lazy too 🙂 .

that manual seems to be the standard retail one, yes. of this we are only missing pages 3, 4, 5, 6 and the back side.

you should really come over your lazyness (yes, i know very well that it is hard) and get your collection together, i’d love to drool over it. ;D
