I saved up money for a long time and got a virtual Boy when it came out. Loved it. My dad let one of his friends son use it and never saw it again. So many years ago I saw a VB at a flea market and I grabed it. The VB one of my top consoles. Then the viewing went out, still had sound. I was going to see if I can fix it. But then my son was put in to the hospital for over a week, to find out he is type1 diabetic plus having bad reaction With med we was in and out of the hospital for a year. Every thing is way better now. He is still type1 but got him a pump and all good. Because of that I sold most of my game and consoles. To help with bills. Now every thing is better I was cleaning a closest and saw that I still had the VB. But no controller, stand or visor.

What I need help is what’s the best way to fix the display issue?
Is there like a DIY visor I can make?
Do I need the original stand or is there others that will work?
I know I have to buy a controller with batt pack and they are high right now. I do not want to sound cheap but I want to be able to play again. There has to be a reason why it was never sold And I was able to find it now. Thank you

for the visor, give this thread a read: http://www.planetvb.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?post_id=32050#forumpost32050

i have not seen an aftermarket stand. most users will just prop it up on a box or something. my suggestion would be to try and grab a cheap (broken) vb off ebay that has the parts you need (stand, controller, battery pack).

as for your displays, the only person i know of on here who is still soldering them is TheForce81: http://www.planetvb.com/modules/usercenter/index.php?section=profile&uid=1229

he is in the netherlands so you’ll probably want to remove the displays and send just those, as sending the whole vb unit would be rather expensive.

if you’re a do-it-your-self kind of person, give this a read: http://www.projectvb.com/displayfix.html

Looks like I may do a lot of DIYing then. I am from the states and I do not know what shipping will be and time. Have to check that out.
For the stand I will weigh the cost of spending $100+ for as is VB vs buy just the controller with bat pack.
Because I will not be able to get ahold of a 3D printer I may see if I can make some thing out of foam then. For the stand I have seen people make small tripods work so I may give that a shot.

If you’re patient and actively looking you can probably score these parts, or a complete untested unit, for much less than $100. It’s all about finding deals. Although making some custom stuff in the mean time so you can still play would be nice. If you’re displays are totally out though they’ll need to be repaired. Get in touch with HP Lovethrash, he might be able to help you with that. He is in the US which would be closer to ship if he is able to. I’ll be getting mine repaired by him hopefully, just sent him a message.
