Hi there,

I’m trying to sale my VB system with games via local ads (don’t want to have to deal with shipping), but I seem to be attracting nothing but cheap-asses. I was curious if the demand for the system has dropped or anything like that. If not, then how much do you think is worth?

The system has no major issues, but it does have a small vertical line in
the LCD of the left eye. It’s barely noticeable since it’s black and so are most
backgrounds in the games.

I have the stand, controller, AC adaptor and the battery compartment. I
also have the box, but it’s a bit beat up and I don’t have the inside
cardboard.

Unless indicated, all games are loose, that being said, all games come with
a GameGear plastic case for protection. Most games are North American (US)
and some are Japanese (JPN) including an exclusive one from the land of the
rising sun:

-3D Tetris (US)
-Galactic Pinball (JPN, Box)
-Jack Bros. (JPN, Manual)
-Mario Clash (US)
-Mario Tennis (US)
-Nester’s Funky Bowling (US)
-Panic Bomber (US)
-Red Alarm (US, Box)
-T&E Virtual Golf (JPN, Box, Manual)
-Teleroboxer (US)
-V-Tetris (JPN exclusive, Box, Manual)
-Vertical Force (US, Manual)
-Wario Land (US)
-Virtual Professional Baseball ’95 (JPN, Box, Manual)
-Waterworld (US, Box)

Thank you

Hello,

Given the info that you provided, I would estimate your lot at $200-$250 USD. Thats under the assumption that the games/boxes/manuals you listed are in good condition. In my opinion, you are not going to get anywhere near retail going through local ads. I sell games and systems quite frequently and usually the odd/rare stuff is most profitable on ebay due to a larger audience. Hope this helps.

You’re kidding? I must have paid $400 on ebay for all of this last year, value has dropped 🙁

based on what i’ve seen loose carts asked for on ebay i would estimate the value more around $350 with the VB (on the low side). the issue you’ll face is that most buyers these days are collectors and they want complete in box purchases. gamers will buy loose carts, the issue being there are so many of those already that trying to sell even more won’t be quick.

-3D Tetris (US) $10
-Galactic Pinball (JPN, Box) $10-15
-Jack Bros. (JPN, Manual) $50-75 (more with box)
-Mario Clash (US) $20
-Mario Tennis (US) $2-5
-Nester’s Funky Bowling (US) $10-20
-Panic Bomber (US) $10-15
-Red Alarm (US, Box) $15
-T&E Virtual Golf (JPN, Box, Manual) $10
-Teleroboxer (US) $15-30
-V-Tetris (JPN exclusive, Box, Manual) $10
-Vertical Force (US, Manual) $15
-Wario Land (US) $30
-Virtual Professional Baseball ’95 (JPN, Box, Manual) $.99-5
-Waterworld (US, Box) $60 (more with the manual)

*estimated prices based on past ebay searches.

you might be better off listing everything as a lot. being careful to include excellent photos and a great description. xmas is right around the corner and your lot may just grab the attention of a buyer.

consider ebay over local ads. local ads will take much longer.

Ive seen all of those go for much less then the prices you quoted. I also priced the system at about $100 due to the box being beat up and it having a defective display. I try to estimate things on the lower end because ive seen numerous things that sell for much lower prices then what the average is.

Oh well, back in the drawer I guess. Maybe it will be worth more in a few years.
