Levine91,

For VGA to HDMI conversion, I am using the eKL AV/BNC + VGA to VGA + HDMI Converter with 3.5mm Audio Port.

If you want to be able to achieve a 3D output to the TV, you’ll need 2 VGA Virtual Taps, 2 of the VGA to HDMI adapters, and an HDMI Switch that supports 2×1 SBS or TB PiP mode. For that, I am using the Groz Store HDMI Multiviewer Switch 4×1 Seamless Switching Quad Multi-Viewer.

You want to set the mode to either Mode 2 for TB or Mode 3 for SBS. Make sure it is set to Stretch to fill the entire screen. Then you would just set your TV to either TB 3D Mode or SBS 3D Mode.

If you are having issues getting the 3D TV to cancel out each view correctly on your TV, you can go the old Red/Blue analogue route by setting the Tap Output Color Left View to Red and Right View to Blue. For that you would obviously also need a pair of Red/Blue 3D Glasses for viewing.

Please note, that the 3D method requires you to have a 3D TV/Monitor that supports manual TB and/or SBS mode. You will not be able to be able to do 3D (even the analogue method) on a regular TV.

Hope this helps anyone looking to achieve a similar setup.

Glad to see you got it working on your end.

I was having trouble with ghosting on my passive 3D screen and saw much better results when I went the old school red and blue method instead.

My original VB was purchased on launch day but unfortunately I no longer have it and don’t know what that serial number was.

I currently have 4 VBs in my possession:

VN10011072[2] – Eyepatch Modded – VGA Modded – Blockbuster Case
VN10023075[8] – Stock Unit – Blockbuster Case
VN10279128[8] – Eyepatch Modded (this one is my son’s)
VN10484171[4] – Minty Stock Unit – CIB – with Matching Serials, Mario’s Tennis & Manuals – PoP Dated 5/10/97
