What would be required to play “Dragon Hopper” (when it’s released)? I would have to buy a “Nintendo Switch 2”, and a “Virtual Boy Expansion”, right? It’d be soooo much better to just have a cart for the original VB.

If we could come up with the ROM, should be an easy matter to restore graphics to “Dragon Hopper”.

Yes, you would need to have a Nintendo Switch 2, a “Virtual Boy Expansion” accessory and NSO.

VB carts will sure somehow popup after release of the ROM.

Not sure if someone can restore the writing to Dragon Hopper, there are not many people out there capable of modifying those file types. But given the fact that this is the most wanted game ever, I assume one will be found 😉

Switch 2 – is that definitely correct? I have been enjoying Virtual Boy Classics on my Switch 1 and I can’t imagine it needs the extra power from Switch 2 just for Zero Racers and Dragon Hopper…

I doubt that it is switch 2 only. That would not really make sense.

So. We are coming up on the 30th anniversary of the original intended release date of Dragon Hopper. What is our collective opinion on the idea that Aug. 26 is when Nintendo drops the D-Hopper on NSO?

Personally, I would *enjoy* the symmetry of such a thing, but the practical part of me doubts that Nintendo would adhere to such a particular parallelism over what is, realistically, a very minor game in the grand scheme of things.

…on the other hand, the fact that they created infrastructure and added the Virtual Boy – arguably their biggest failure – to their marketplace at all might serve as evidence towards the contrary. Furthermore, they’re *actually releasing the game*. That’s not nothing! Thoughts?

I would love to see it released the 26th of August.
But I am with you. It is hardly predictable.

If it’s not on Aug 26, then probably Sept or Oct the two games will release but given Nintendo in recent years, I wouldn’t be surprised by a Dec 31 release.
