So I know many of you are playing Pokemon Go … I bet it is awesome, but I didn’t make this post to share my experiences. As I am not sure if or when I will be able to play Pokemon Go. I have been a long time Pokemon fan, and I now find my self in a financial situation where I cannot afford to pay for a cell phone plan every month. It is not a big deal, I am not going to get in to the details. It is weird for me because I always found a way to buy the latest Pokemon release. I wasn’t able to do that for Pokemon Go. This time, Pokemon Go is the biggest Pokemon release of the century. So I feel like I am missing out. Don’t get me wrong, I can’t wait for Sun and Moon. But this is the first time ever I wasn’t able to join in on the Pokemon hype.

And yes I was there for Twitch Plays Pokemon.

If the Virtual Boy was a huge success I wonder if we would have seen an official Pokemon release? It was only 2 years after the Virtual Boy’s death that Pokemon Red and Blue were released. A Pokemon game on the VB could have saved the console.

Perhaps just like the Pokemon franchise is currently now saving Nintendo.

Thoughts?

I think it’s all very ‘meh’. I’d way rather play a traditional Pokemon game.

I tried it. Not really a fan. Still prefer the GB versions =)

Haha awesome.

I don’t think I’ve ever played or owned a Pokémon anything. Something about it never appealed to me, which is true for any kind of RPG game really. If Nintendo dug up the Dragon Hopper files and released that, you KNOW it would make far more money than Pokémon Go…

I have accepted the fact that I am missing out, and realize it is not a big deal. This happens to me all the time with games, it is just that I am a pretty big fan of pokemon so this is a little different. I am happy Nintendo is having a lot of success and happy people are having fun with it.

haha I am now more excited that I just ordered a copy of Galactic Pinball so I can try and get on the leader boards here at PVB 🙂

I also agree with HP Lovethrash Nintendo could make a lot of money if they dug up those unreleased VB files… man they would make a mint off of this forum alone.

All they need to do is release a few teeny, tiny game files and we can do the rest here 🙂

This was on my local news today. Crazy stuff, people are taking this game way to seriously. They’re walking around here like a bunch of zombies.

Wow, I don’t even have words to describe the idiocy of that guy. I have seen hoards of zombies playing this game too, I mean kids. Oh well, at least they are out side.

You know for a fact that something like this has truly become a cultural phenomenon when your boss walks out of his office playing it on his phone…!

All I know is the original GB games are going up in price again almost double on some. Which always makes me laugh at what people are paying and thinking they’re “rare” or “hard to find” which of course they’re not.

Yeah. I think the bubble will burst fast on them once the hype dies down. They are in no way rare.

Definitely one of my favorite games of all time.

Speaking of pokemon, I made these pictures for fun today (attached below).

Maybe someday I’ll make one of them my avatar. Pokemon came out when I was young and I’ve played it since I was a kid. Don’t care too much for the new pokemon though.
