What is your favorite in this category and why? Keep in mind this doesn’t mean “best graphics”, it means “What game utilizes 3D the best”?

3D Tetris, Red Alarm, and Vertical Force. 3D Tetris and Red Alarm show off the polygonal capabilities as well as great depth-of-field 3D effects. The altitude adjustments that can be made in Vertical Force show 3D effects that are visually stunning, and an integral part of the game’s mechanics. There are few games where the 3D is more than just a visual effect, but the stereoscopy in those 3 games is a necessary part of gameplay.

Red alarm, great depth, and i love wireframe anyway, but this is about 3D not graphical favs, as it happens IMO fav graphics and the best 3D are the same this instance.

For me it would be….. Red Alarm hands down because of the depth. Bound High would be next Teleroboxer or hmmm Vertical Force are tied for 3rd. I’m sure if I sat down and played them all I’d change my mind except I would still stick with Red Alarm as number 1 out of my 3 choices.

What do you guys set the “depth” option at in Red Alarm? (Found in the options menu)

I can’t believe i forgot Bound High, this working for a living thing really screws up your memory, filling my head up with design changes & dimensions, damn them customers.

Now does Bound High come before Red Alarm, tricky, can’t decide, will have to try and find some time to play them both.

As for depth in Red Alarm i have it full up.

Bound seems like a great exercise for the VB’s muscles, but I don’t have flashboy. I also set the depth all the way up in Red Alarm.

Agreed. 😉

Anyway, best games for Depth are Red Alarm, 3D Tetris, and Golf IMO.

I bought a copy of 3D tetris so I’m really excited to try that one out when it gets here.

I absolutely LOVE Red Alarm. Wireframe graphics are awesome and the depth is incredible. Plus I love the way the controls let you strafe left/right and also up/down. The controls were WAY ahead of their time on this game.

Before I got my VB I thought I would hate Red Alarm, because every review I have ever read on the internet says it is a crappy game and extremely hard to tell what you’re doing. I found the opposite when I actually played it. It’s very easy to tell what’s going on, in almost all situations.

Yeah i saw them too, but as i have worked with 3D wireframe for many years i just knew i would get on with it, and with the depth the VB 3D gives just makes it easier to see whats going on.
its alway the second game i make anyone play when they have a go on my VB, i do tennis first as that is generally going to be everyones first Vb game and IMO a great little intro to VB
You are gonna enjoy 3D tetris, i need to get me a cart of that, i have played it a bit on flashboy, but that made me then want to get the cart.

There was an eBay auction that just ended that had a VB, controller and 4 games, cincluding 3D Tetris, complete with box and manual, all in good condition. I don’t think the guy knew 3D Tetris was worth more than probably the rest of his auction combined. It sold for like $70 I think, for the whole bundle. I was going to bid, but the VB was in pretty bad shape, so I found another deal on 3D tetris (game only) and it should be coming in the mail today!
