Well, the Virtual Boy I have on the stand now got the dreaded lines problem on the bottom of the screen. I tried to change which of the 2 VBs I have on the stand, but I couldn’t figure it out. I unscrewed the key and got the first VB off, but it looks as though my other VB has a part missing? Or can I just swap the stand parts? It looks as though the first VB the part I need to come off and put on the other VB won’t come off. Or am I just stupid and am missing something obvious?

Why can’t you just squeeze the lock open, take the VB off and put the new one on the stand? You don’t have to do any unscrewing of any sort.

OK, I did that. I guess I wasn’t using enough force to unsnap the VB off. I didn’t want to break the stand or the VB or anything. It was my first time doing this, so now that I’ve done it, I know to apply more force to unsnap the VB.

The only delicate part of the stand is the medallion. The lock and the bottom part of the VB are very solid, they won’t break.

I’ve always had a pain getting mine on the stand. I struggle and struggle and then eventually it just works like perfectly, as if to say “See you’re just a dumb ass.” Sometimes it grabs on too and doesn’t want to come off.
It’s probably just me actually being a dumb ass though =P

That’s not entirely true. I have a stand with a broken clip I got with a 2nd-hand VB, and I know of other people with the same problem. In fact, there’s even an entire thread about replacing them.

@Chris: I’m wondering what you thought the word “PUSH” molded into the clip meant… 😉 Anyway, when in doubt, check the manual!

I didn’t see the word push on it.

I agree w/ RunnerPack I own a VB w/ a broken clip I think it happened w/ some one (not me)not showing any respect for the VB would just put the thing on and let it snap. Too much of that and it snapped alright-right off!:p I have another vb in tip top condition that you cannot put the stand on…Unless you grab the thing pushing your thumb on the nose piece bellow the eyes then suddenly it will clip. Unbelievable, how it works I’ll never know but it just happens to work that way.

it is funny that other people experience the same phenomenon. my vb just sort of magically clips in place. even when its open more than far enough to accept the vb, it doesn’t always seem to go into the clip. it is so odd. lol

I’m glad it’s not just me that has that issue =P
