Original Post

Hi – a repost from something I posted to the Facebook group Virtual Boy Fans Unite. Hope somebody finds it useful.

My VB came without a stand, and because the prices are pretty horrible – £50 and up – I decided to improvise a stand. And it works like a charm. Right height and very low cost.

You will need –
1) A go-pro camera clamp – it’s the part designed to clamp around your bike’s handlebars
2) a female to female camera stand adaptor (1/4 inch I believe – it will dominate the ebay results)
3) Any small tripod

Total cost – about a tenner – all from ebay, so includes postage. My first go used one of those wobbly flexible stands. Don’t get that. It works fine, but there’s some wobble you can do without. Basically the adaptor sits in the middle of the clamp and the stand – couldn’t be simpler. The clamp attaches to the VB base so firmly you can pick it up and swing it around. The clamp grips are padded so compress safely around your VB base.
Anyway – hope this helps anybody looking for a cheap solution and who isn’t fussed about original equipment but just wants to play on their VB.

Neat solution. Nice work with the ebay purchases, the padded clamp seems quite secure.
Always like a ‘fit for function’ item so you can still play.
