It’s a freaking Christmas miracle. On Dec. 26th I booted up my notebook and found a file called “Fishbone.[Merry.Christmas].vb” on my Desktop. So I went and checked the security tapes. You guys won’t believe it: A group of 6 Christmas-Elves showed up in my apartment and finished the game. I was pretty surprised at first but then deleted the file as I thought: “I don’t need help of a freaking Christmas-Elf”.

The next morning there was a new file called “Fishbone.[Not.cool.Bro].vb”. I checked the tapes again an the very same thing had happened. However, this time one of the Elves stared directly into the camera for half an hour after they were done. I thought to myself: “I’m afraid of no freaking Christmas-Elf” so I deleted the file again.

The next morning I found a file called “Fishbone.[Next.time.we.break.your.legs].vb”. Obviously I checked the tapes again. After the elves were finished one went over to my couch and took a monster dump directly onto it.

So, I decided to not delete the game this time and release it instead. As the elves reprogrammed the game from the scratch in Python I can’t make any changes to the game anymore, so please don’t ask for it.

Some cheats of the game:
– You can delete all highscores by pressing the left and right trigger during the Adjustment-Screen
– You can trigger the Credits-Screen early if you press left and right trigger during the Start-Screen
– You can deactivate the collision detection if you press up on both D-Pads during the Start-Screen

About the card release:
I can’t tell if the quality is high enough for a card release. However, I think it is as good as the Blox and Soviet Union games which are high quality games in my opinion. However, a card release will only happen if there is an interest. So if you want the game on a card just post it in this thread, this is not a pre-order though. Everything else will be figured out later.

OK, as I said: I can’t change the game anymore because of the Elves. Ask the Elves if you want changes. I will remove the Elf-Shit from my couch and play with my WiiU.

Happy New Year Everyone

Sweet. Now I know for sure all of the “perfect scores” that I must achieve. Thanks for that.

You know… all of these additional edits from you are starting to make me think that you just made up that story about the elves… πŸ˜‰

I have to do a Rom-Hack every time, it’s pretty tedious.

It most definitely is !

I’m willing to make some repros, but it won’t be for a while. I’ve got a list to work through first (including ‘the big one’).

I’d absolutely spring for a repro cart of this, it looks incredible! Great job!

After trying out all the modes this definitely has a lot of polish. It controls well, looks great and even sounds great. No better way to ring in the new year than by playing a first class homebrew like this.

It is great to see this game completed. I hope it gets put on a cart, but not in the $75+ range. =P

Happy New Year!

If it makes a card release I want it to sell for the lowest price possible, meaning I will make no money with it nor will VirtualBen. I would even buy my Box like everyone else if that lowers the price. However, you can be pretty sure that the lowest possible price is somewhere around 75$ as it’s no like someone is earning money with the repos right now.

I’m thinking about adding my PayPal info if there is a card release though, so people can donate money if they want. It’s not like I need money but there are some tools and licenses I would like to buy (e.g. a proper Visual Studio license, a newer Photoshop license, some Midi tools, licenses for graphics and music). I usually don’t buy this stuff because I feel like I don’t want to invest my money into these projects (even though I put a ridiculous high amount of time into them).

It will cost me at least double to make this cart as it needs SRAM.

I wasn’t aware of that. Good to know, I could build a version that doesn’t persist the score to lower the price then. However, I think it is way to early to think about all of this.

I just realized there are not allot of screenshots of the game so here are some:

thanks for the photos.

Yesterday I realized that I didn’t mentioned HorvatM for his SU Sound engine in the credits. I’m sorry for that, I simply forgot about putting it there. I changed it in this version.

Haven’t got the gear to give it a go yet, but once I do…!

Great work, thunderstruck.

Looks fantastic! I can’t wait to get home and try it out. πŸ™‚

If there’s a boxed release, I’m in. πŸ˜€

Here is the finished box cover.
If someone has some ideas for changes ore anything, just write it. But do you all think it is ok and should i keep it that way ? if yes, write back if no write what you would change.

It looks very nice to me. I’m assuming that the spelling of the word “graphics” as “grafics” is intentional?

oops, i fixed that.

Nice. I honestly wasn’t sure if it was intentional because I’ve see a lot of people online seemingly intentionally spell it the way you originally had it.

Heh, nearly forgot about this game. I made logo based an VirtualBens Startscreen-Logo a while ago. UncleTusker sent me his template for the BoundHigh-Label so I used that to make a Label for the game.

I attached a version with Die-Lines and one without.

Very nice labels. Does this mean that reproduction carts can be made on a per-order basis?
