Original Post

Here’s a few things I’d like to see around here if possible.

Firstly, Due to amount of German & English usere here, would it be possible to add a button to each post that opens a window with the contents of that post translated by one of the many free online translators available on the net?

And now for the not-really-needed-but-would-be-nice things:
* Adding quick URL/IMG/B/I/U/etc buttons to the post topic boxes.
* Adding an ability to [ quote ] that allows you to add the name of the person you are quoting.
* And a useless thing like [ me ] that displays a * lameboyadvance string like that of IRC.

Thats about it. I’m most interested in the translator, but the other things would be nice. 🙂

The ability to edit posts would also be nice. Seeing as how I love to make tyops and all…..

I wanted to do some upgrades to the forum anyway, so I will come back to your suggestions, lameboy. The translate thing sounds useful and should not be too hard to include.

Sir William: You CAN edit your posts. There’s a link in the bottom right corner of your post(s).

Would it be possible to add a text box for the birth date in the profile page ? We could add it in “More infos” but it won’t appear on the left of our posts.

good idea. we could even have a block with current birthdays and so on. 😀 sadly, date fields seem to not work in my xoops version. xP

I’m sure others have noticed that, when replying, the subject line has a limited amount of space which affects bilingual titles by cutting off the German part and the closing (de) tag.

Not sure how it would be fixed, but the fact that such a long subject can be entered in the first place suggests that it should be technically possible.

A workaround could be to shorten the “new post” subject box to allow for the “Re: ” that gets prepended when replying.
