I’m sure this has already been discussed, but I’m new here and still learning how to search the forums; so I’m gonna ask (again?)

Even though it was never released and they missed out on some great applications for it (Panic Bomber, Why no game link! Come On! Same goes for you Space Squash.) I heard a Rumor that Virtual Lab was, or could have been capable of using the Gamelink. Do we know anything about this? I had Virtual Lab at one point, but only one copy of a $400 (it was the year 2000 when I got mine) and the lack of a GameLink made it hard to test this theory.

If You’ve ever played Virtual Lab its obvious the game wasn’t actually finished, but was there any GameLink code? Same question for Space Squash, although I personally tested that and got nowhere with two VBs, Two SS carts and a makeshift GameLink cable (which may or may not have been set up right; I used both straight connections and the straight connections + crossed cable setup).

One more thing that occurs to me now; has anyone found earlier builds of Panic Bomber? Perhaps one that had a place holder for a two player option, or even a functional version? Anything hidden in the final code?

So… any info would be appreciated. I assume I’ll be re-directed to old forum posts or maybe an article I missed.

Side note; I left the Virtual boy scene around 2004 (along with a lot of my games) and I just wanted to say its nice to see so much new goods have arisen in the VB universe. You should all be very proud.

A look through the disassembly of Virtual Lab shows no GameLink code at all – that is, the relevant hardware registers are never touched.
