There cannot be a virtual boy 2! Nintendo did not even like the first one. They hated the guy who made it a whole lot. They did NOT sell very good at ALL. What makes you think that they would like a virtual boy 2??

What makes you think Nintendo did not like the first Virtual Boy? They would not have released it if they didn’t stand behind the idea, it was the gamers who did not accept the Virtual Boy. And the “guy who made it” was a genius, he made Nintendo billions with inventions like the Game Boy or franchises like Metroid. It’s bullshit that anyone at Nintendo hated him, it’s just normal for japanese companies to make people leave in case of failure.
Oh, and, you wanted three reasons:

1) It would be a whole new gaming experience and a whole new field in gaming, filling the gap the Virtual Boy left

2) The Legend of Zelda 3-D

3) A new Virtual Reality console by Nintendo would KICK MAJOR ASS >:@

Aaaand…

4) Planet Virtual Boy 2 ;P

but i dont think nintendo would ever take that chance of making a new VB scince the olds one was not very good.

You are probably right… we can still hope, though.

1. Technology has advanced which would make the VB2 a better system.
A. Lighter
B. Better Games
C. Much more Portable, I.E. smaller head unit.
2. True 3D with color totally emersing the player in a virtual world.
3. If Nintendo can pull off the Nintendo DS they could pull off the VB2.

I doubt it would ever happen but the dream is still there.

1) Technology has gotten to a point where the VB 2 would be able to do hat the VB1 hoped to do, after all, isn’t the arcade game ‘Beach Head’ a success?

2) It could be smaller, and alot more portable, hell look what they packed into the GC

3) Wouldn’t being: Link, Mario, Samus, and the like in first person? After all, I don’t think that the horse chases (that we’ll see in the new Zelda coming up in 05) will be all to bad, how about saving the mushroom kingdom, or really playing as Samus in Metroid Prime?

…there should be no vb 2. no good idea i think.
Virtual Reality on a Handheld ?? No !!
I think in the past it was no good decision to port VR to a Handheld, although VB is really a unique handheld.
Today i hope Nintendo’s ‘Revolution’ will be able to connect a VR headset, it’s power will be enough to manage it, today the headset would be more comfortable to wear it, it’s possible to put sensors in it who will recognise movements of the Players Head (lookaround in VR), enough Power for first person Shooters or – i hope – games like Zelda. It’s time for it.

Enough reasons i think.

it just ain’t gonna happen. They’re already gambling with the DS, and 3d has always had a niche audience (although a DS in a different “box” would basically be a color 3d system, placing one screen in each eye). I love 3d gaming, I wouldn’t sell my shutterglasses for anything (playing gta3 in 3d rules!!!!). The virtual boy is fun, but something like it could not and will not ever become mainstream ANYTIME soon.

face the facts, there just isn’t a big enough audience of people who will pay to strap something on their head or place their head in front of something to play a game or watch a movie. People are lazy, they want to “walk into a room and see entertainment”. People are scared of virtual reality in small boxes on their heads, but have no qualms about walking into a small room with a tv in it, they also have no problem wearing 3d glasses. I dunno what’s wrong with people. I know there is something wrong with me because i’ve spent all night looking at VB stuff online when I should be sleeping… i have class today.

First of all, the Virtual Boy was not a Virtual Reality system, and it never claimed to be. Second of all, is not a handheld system, and they never claimed that it was! It was mostly advertised as a “portable” “3-D” gaming system. Which we all know is entirely different.

The closest to virtual reality gaming that any of us can really afford is some nice 3-D glasses from this LINK , and hooking them up to your computer. I love the VB as much as anyone here, but I really doubt that Nintendo is going to make any kind of VR system in our lifetime, or ever. The initail cost of the system would be through the roof, and most likely end up like the VB1.

The 3-D glasses on that LINK are very affordable, and very effective. Great for games like DOOM III.
