I’ve actually never played my Virtual Boy yet πŸ˜€

I wanted to ask first, since its never used (at least thats what the seller said, and it is in plastic baggies and has the visor cardboard) should I actually use it or keep it “unused” and find another VB?

I did take it out once (and put it all together… I’m such a teasing meanie to my VB πŸ™ ) but put it back due to what I just previously said

thoughts?

ps. hi virty

I’d go with that, don’t ever throw away the original pakacging, books or anything, not even stickers, plastic or garanty papers.

Play the darn thing, but be mindful to not damage any of the packaging. Nothing like the smell of putting your face up to a brand new VB.

Plus, you already took it out of the box and assembled it once. It’s technically not new anymore anyway. πŸ˜‰

Have you ever played *any* Virtual Boy before?

Oh, and be sure to get yourself an AC Adaptor Tap. The VB sucks the juice out of batteries like no other.

You might also want to consider getting a Flashboy so you can enjoy all the homebrew games and also try out all the expensive games before you shell big bucks out for them.

Then I shouldn’t have been mean to Virty and assembled him like that just to put him away if assembling means its not new anymore πŸ˜›

I have actually never played Virtual Boy before… but I do own one and hopefully will play it so its not completely taboo for me to be here right? πŸ˜€

I do have a AC Adaptor Set, I got it because I have a terrible fear of batteries (which reminds me, my Gameboy’s batteries have been in it since April 2009!)

I blame Mountain Dew… I got a new flavor and I wanted to try it that day and on top of it I was a bit thirsty so thats another reason I put away my Virtual Boy (I am such a terrible VB owner πŸ™ )

and now something off topic to this thread but I think its too silly to create another thread about: do Virtual Girls exist but hide as Virtual Boys like boy lady bugs (and Mulan)? and… how can you tell which is which? πŸ˜›

You should be ashamed of yourself. Either play it or give it to someone who will. It was made to be played! Just keep it in new condition and no one will ever know the difference anyway. Just ask yourself this; Would Mr. Yokoi, rest his soul, want me to enjoy the product of his hard work, or let the hours of fun that await me inside that box become a distant dream…?

I went to go play it but… well, I’m now afraid of Virtual Boys (well at least mine)

its all the things that happen when I go to play it,
first, I go to the box, I get itchy around it, I thought it was a flea hideout (somehow) but there are no jumpy bugs (or any bugs for that matter, thank goodness) around it (or “OH NO EVERYWHERE!” for that matter)

then, since I don’t have a chair around where I wanted to play it, I needed to borrow one, there was a chair in the house someone told me I could have but it was somewhat dirty, they cleaned it up and its good now but…

when I finally was going into my blue container to get out the VB box (MARIO TENNIS TIME! πŸ˜€ ) I decided to sit down for a minute to take a breather (lots o’ stuff on there) I saw a BIG GIANT STRANGE ANT that JUMPS… anyways I got rid of it (well, someone else did technically) but I am getting so much bad luck around my VB (no offense, my scary but friendly red friend) that I am now afraid to go around it due to fear of other bad things stopping me from playing it (all the way down to the possible common screen scramble/line errors that lots of VBs encounter… (poor Virty could be suffering this I don’t even know yet 😯 ) ) anyways I’m afraid of Virty now πŸ™

can anyone try and remedy my fear? I really would like to play Mario’s Tennis (and Teleroboxer, Galactic Pinball, Nester’s Funky Bowling, Red Alarm, SD Gundam Dimension Wars, Virtual Bowling/Fishing/Lab, Vertical Force, Panic Bomber, Wario Land, Space Invaders, Insmouse no Yakata, Space Squash, 3D Tetris, V-Tetris, Golf, Virtual League Baseball, Jack Bros., Mario Clash, that other Kemco Baseball game, WaterWorld (yep even WaterWorld), and maybe even Bound High! if I got a FlashBoy but I don’t have any of those games yet πŸ˜› )

EDIT: I just remembered something else I forgot to mention: one day I promised I’d play my VB to someone but didn’t and encountered a spider a little before I fell asleep… SUPER ODD! 😯

You’re ridiculous.

You’re a psycho. Get a grip of yourself or get out of here.

This seems strangely appropriate here… πŸ˜›

Anyway, just go play your VB. It’s not like any of that stuff is related to your actual VB, it’s just a console.

hey… please don’t get angry
the previous forum I used to go to was against me too (but thats because I constantly talked about Miyamoto (then lots of Yokoi mentions))

I wanted to be a fellow friend on this here site
and I was already nervous that in less than a month someone
was going to be frustrated at me but PVB seemed like it has friendly people…

I’ll try my best to visit Virty, I swear! πŸ˜›
I don’t want to get anyone upset, really!

In response to DaVince: hey you never know, the last owner could of despised the VB and the fans of it so he made it bug attracting with dust/dirt or kept it in a dirty area or was just a messy guy and it invited bugs in my home when I got it… even if there was no bugs on the package, there could of been some attic/basement/closet/storage dust/dirt that makes some bugs attracted to its box, and when I go to my VB they could move around off of the area and end up into my room…

when I got my original Gameboy for example, there was a dead spider in the battery compartment

And… I still like PVB and its members, I bet if I play Virty everyone will be in a better mood… at least I hope so πŸ˜›

NEW YORK β€” Among the recalled items this week are McDonald’s drinking glasses with Shrek figures on them containing cadmium in the paint

Ingesting cadmium is even worse than lead. Cadmium is a known carcinogen that can cause brain damage and kidney failure.

Just play your VB, gunpeyyokoifan. Enjoy your stay on the forums, but I just think people would prefer your posts to be more relevant, rational, and have lucid topics.

I understand that you’re a girl, we have no idea of your age (which could be a rational explanation). Being silly/joking around is fine, I just think some of your posts make it hard to tell if it is even a joke. I’m not trying to be a mean guy, just trying to save you the heartbreak of upsetting people, and in turn getting upset yourself. This is mostly an adult community of enthusiasts, and traffic is pretty slow here so people do read almost every new post here.

You have a website dedicated to gunpeyyokoi, have a twitter page dedicated to him, but you’ve yet to relax and enjoy his coolest invention of all time.

Once again,
play your VB. Discuss VB.

this is mostly an adult community? I have seen a few teenage people here and someone once said in a topic that there are a few teens…

Anywho, most of my posts are supposed to be silly because I’m always like that (yes, even before the Shrek cups)

and yes, yes, yes, I will play Virty… tomorrow… I hope πŸ˜›

Yet I still feel somewhat sad about being accused that those cups mean I could have lost it πŸ™

(silly moment, just so you know): oh well, if I make PVB all against me I’ll still have Virty, and he’ll still be my friend right? 😐

The Cadmium cups quotes were in jest. My comment about your gender, and possible age was to give people an idea to maybe lay it easy on you.

Don’t put off until tomorrow what you could do today.

Play your VB.

Don’t you ever wonder why we’re all here? VB isn’t some black and red retro gameboy to us. When I was a kid, frankly until my adult life, VB was my first stereoscopic experience. It’s not like 2 Dimensional VS 3 Dimensional of SNES vs Panasonic 3DO / Sony PS1. Some things appear closer, other things appear farther. I was just barely 13 years old when I got my Virtual boy in 1995, it was very exciting.

So far you haven’t ever played virtual boy ever, named your virtual boy, and over the past few days have still refused to play it, yet posting on forums that you want to own every game but refuse to play your virtual boy because there was a bug in a box or because it may be cursed.

Was I not one of the first to greet you in a friendly and welcoming fashion? Please return the respect and discuss the topic for the forum you joined aside from 100% speculation and 100% jokes.

Sorry to be so serious, but the responses to your posts show that you have currently been heading down a rocky path.

We all love Gunpey Yokoi, but we love him because we have fun playing and love the Virtual boy.

I’m not a mod here. I’m not even frustrated. You can talk about clowns riding giraffes for all I care and I wouldn’t be mad. (Someone please make a topic on that)
It’s just, can you understand…at all…why people here want to discuss Virtual Boy and not spider-curses?
Please enjoy the Virtual Boy, and discuss the virtual boy that you enjoy playing. Until then, take care.

For the love of God, stop calling it “Virty”!!!!!! I don’t care if you’re a girl and 12 years old or whatever. It’s not “cutesy” or funny it’s just annoying, and it belittles and demasculates something all of us on this forum love. Just stop. /end rant

Well, to be completely fair, is *everyone* here really for the nostalgy? I mean, I never owned one as a kid, and am instead attracted to the VB because it’s simply such an interesting old console with a set of surprisingly good (but usually small) games…

I do not name it Virty because I want to insult the VB in anyway, but because I love games so much that I name all of my consoles/handhelds, after all, I’ve seen even guys on this forum call their VB “VeeBee” and other silly names

I’m not calling all Virtual Boys “Virty”, just mine

I’m sorry I didn’t call it something more masculine like “Virtutron” or “Virtual Bob”, but since I’ve already named it I feel like I can not re-name it, as I named it many months ago and I’m stuck to it πŸ™

I don’t want to hate any of you or the Virtual Boy, I intend to only be friendly like most of PVB I believe is πŸ˜›

You love it so much, you named it, but you’ll never understand why we love it if you never play it. You’re just infatuated with the idea of it, and until you play it you will receive little respect here.

…so is that why I wanted to dress up as a Virtual Boy (or would I be a Virtual Girl in my case)?

So is THAT why I’m hesitant to play it? πŸ˜›

Makes sense, since when I was about 4-7 years old I used to say that I wanted to marry a computer πŸ˜€

Do you own a stereoscopic 3D Television, seen any recent 3D movies at your theater, or have an Nvidia 3D-Vision PC setup?

If not, I think you’re in for a neat surprise with VB. For the love of God, please play it.

With every new post you make without playing your VB yet, I fart blood.

This is your dumbest and most nonsensical post yet. Congratulations!
