Hello everyone. I’ve followed the site for a few years, but just recently registered. I was all excited to start playing my Virtual Boy again after reading about Faceball and getting more into this site again. However, we just moved a few months ago and I can’t find any of my games, except Red Alarm, which was in the VB system.

I searched all day yesterday all over the house and in my boxes in the basement. I’ll have to go through the rest of the boxes in my garage. At least both lcds are showing properly now after messing with the IPD adjustment.

I definitely hope you find those games, so that you can enjoy some VB gaming soon. Do you remember what all games you own?

I’m afraid I can’t really help you, but at least you have Red Alarm. 🙂

Yeah, I’ve got the following:

US
Red Alarm
Golf
Mario Tennis
Wario Land

JPN
Red Alarm
Vertical Force
Panic Bomber
Golf
Baseball
V Tetris
Galactic Pinball
Teleroboxer

I know, right. It’s a good one. I still haven’t beat it. I think I kept dying on the third or fourth level last time I tried.

Hopefully I can find the rest in the garage, even though I thought I had all my video games in one box inside the house. Apparently I didn’t.

That’s a very nice selection of games you own. Once you find them all (I’m confident you will), I would definitely recommend adding Space Squash to your collection if you can. It’s definitely the kind of game that the Virtual Boy was intended for and SOOOOOO much fun!

Heheh. That’s a game that I really want to own. Unfortuantely, a CIB copy of it went for on;ly $45, and the only other copy is $100. I’m still trying to save my money for Faceball.

Space Squash looks interesting. Other than Ebay or Yahoo Japan where else do you guys go to get your games? Most of mine were bought at used game or recycle stores, but that was years ago.

Yeah… those are basically the only two online sites where I search for all Virtual Boy games. I know that some other people have found great deals by performing google searches and buying stuff on other sites, or by asking around on Nintendo fan sites like this one itself or NintendoAge, etc. to see if somebody might happen to have an extra copy of a game that they are willing to sell at a nice or fair price. I don’t know of any block and mortar stores in my area that have any Virtual Boy games, so I basically have to rely on the internet.

Thanks for the info. Do you know if it’s possible to buy directly from Yahoo Japan auctions with a US credit card and have it shipped to a US address? Or should I try Buyee or another site as a middleman? My Japanese is probably at an intermediate level, as I took classes for 3 years and lived there for a year, but I think I could probably get by if going directly through Yahoo Japan is an option.

I would use a Yahoo Auctions Japan proxy service as a middleman to do all of the buying. I know that some sellers on there don’t give the option to ship items internationally, but if you use a proxy service, you should never have to worry about that – someone correct me if I’m wrong. I’ve never bought directly on Yahoo Auctions Japan, so I don’t know how easy that would be.

Thanks Benjamin,

I did see Space Squash listed, but you’re right, he won’t do international shipping. I guess I would have to use a third party, at least for that one.

I don’t want to be the person that suggests that a collector shouldn’t collect, but have you considered a Flashboy+? For $100 USD (includes shipping) you would be able to enjoy everything you lost, and gain experiences from homebrew, demos, hacks, translations, etc.

Yeah, I do want to get a Flashboy+ eventually so I can play homebrew and the unreleased games. However, I will have to wait at least a few months before I can afford it, especially since I just got the Wii U for Christmas. Do you know if we still have to provide a donor cart when purchasing a Flashboy+?

When you do decide to order a FlashBoy+ from Richard, just ask him in your e-mail if he presently needs any donor carts for the FlashBoy+ and how many. Sometimes he has needed them and other times he hasn’t needed them because he already had a large stock on hand, but I would have donor carts ready to send to him since he is always in need of them.

Well, I found 6 in a box labeled “Boy clothes”. I can’t trust my wife’s labeling. I’ll have to search every single box to find the other 5.

force her to sit down and play the games!

If there were a Phoenix Wright or Animal Crossing type game for VB, I wouldn’t even have to force her.
