Well this is why:

today I went to go see my PSP to charge it and in my handhelds drawer theres a new-looking moist stain on the right side of my drawer which appears to be only around my Gameboy’s carry case…

I’m a GAMEBOY MURDERER πŸ™

and all I did was pay attention to all my other game consoles (most of them, except the Virtual Boy were NOT Yokoi invented)
and now my Gameboy is most likely damaged

I should be ashamed… as Gameboys arent like TV remotes and you can’t just simply just get a new one at Wal-Mart for $9.99 or so

and you know what? I should never get another gameboy until I handle batteries correctly, and with me, that might be never… its better if I just stick with things that don’t have Alkaline batteries

I am a TERRIBLE Yokoi fan, and worst of all I don’t even think I will/can change the batteries or even pick up the case never mind taking the gameboy out of there (about 8 games are in there too!) I’m too scared, so my Gameboy is probably going to be forever in the drawer, never to be seen again… or in a cardboard box in who knows where

sad but true, thats what my Battery fear does…

*created in memory of Bleepei the Gameboy, a great working gameboy which I remember playing Super Mario Land on…poor thing fell into the terrible hands of me though* πŸ™

Seriously, please….chill out and stop the “fear of” things.

Anyway, congrats on buying some new VB games, you got a great deal on them, especially being boxed. πŸ™‚

but seriously I’m afraid of a lot of things:
Escalators, Mansions, Batteries, High Hights, Cars, Highways, Hiroshi Yamauchi, Japan, Bugs, Darkness, Lights when they are dying (weird eerie flickering), VHS tapes that come out shredding, stairs, swimming, Car Accidents, Knives and other sharp things, Robots (except particular ones like Teleroboxers… but robots like “Eve” from Wall-E are nightmare-ish) Disney World/Land, Rollercoasters, Floods and other natural disasters and theres other things I’m afraid of but I don’t want to think of my fears πŸ™

Oh wow there is so much more to fear in this world, take a look around.
ooops sorry am i pushing you into an ocd state?
Seriously like its been said already try and chill, maybe even actually push yourself to open the gameboy, go on, for all of us don’t let it go just cos it looks like its got a stain near it.
A friend of mine does have ocd and it made his life suck until he addressed it, not cured now but so much better, no longer taking 20mins to lock the door….. address these fears now and don’t let them take over.
the Bene Gesserit (Dune novels) litany against fear is a good one:

I must not fear fear is the mind killer, fear is the little death that brings total obliteration, i will face my fear i will allow it to pass over me and through me and when the fear has gone past only i will remain.

or words to that effect, i’m being too lazy to check out the actually wording.

Also yes you are a terrible Gunpei fan, keeping a psp in the same draw as a gameboy……

If you can’t face opening these items give them to a friend, at least someone might get some use and enjoyment from them.

Not entirely! there was a game series Yokoi was involved in (GunPey) that had a game release on the PSP πŸ˜€

Only several posts ago you said: “I am a TERRIBLE Yokoi fan” but apparently now you’re not? Which is it?

Its like a good cop/bad cop situation…

sometimes I can be a good fan (my support for the VB for example) but other times I can be a bad fan (letting my Gameboy battery leak and being aware the whole time that it had aging batteries)
