Came with the unit, stand, and visor all in great condition! You can’t even literally tell it was used or any marks.

UNFORTUNATELY…

No controller or ac tap but I bought that on eBay. Also no games. If anyone has any game spares for shipping costs just so I can get in and test it, let me know!

I hope there are no issues 😕

Are there a lot of problems with virtual boys? I only really hear about the lines on left or right screens.

……

I never owned a virtual boy before only playing one at Target on a kiosk off to the side with Wario Land. It wasn’t even displayed on the main video game wall lol

I guarantee at some point both screens will fail entirely but do not worry as we have professionals here and they solder the screens for a permanent fix. 🙂

Wow! That is an absolute steal! Gratz on one hell of a good deal! I hope you will enjoy your system and if the screens fail I would advise you to contact Runnerpack as he is in the USA (looking at your profile you are located there too).

How much does he charge on average? Also, is there a way to test the displays without any games inserted when I get the controller/AC tap?

I won’t be able to get any games for a little while I think.

No, there is no way to test it without a game inserted unfortunately. Please PM him to ask his price.
In any way, if you are really committed to getting into the Virtual Boy, having them soldered is the way to go. Every display will display glitches at some point.

Yes, I do plan on getting it permanently fixed just so I wouldn’t have to worry about it anymore. I guess I’ll have to go game hunting :\

Edit: Just realized I don’t have a long game bit to get into the screw holes on the unit. Time for Ebay!

Get these and you are definitely good to go!

I have a game bit set already but not a long extension for the virtual boy. Just bought one on eBay for $8

Got my controller and ac tap from Ebay. Came to $20 shipped!

Unfortunately, I still need a game inserted to test it out, so I have to wait longer to find a cheap one before I invest more into this!

Did you still want the games we talked about?

Yeah. I’m looking for a cheap game so I can make sure everything is working before I settle down on more.

Got the screwdriver bit in today and did a test run of opening the unit up. It was fairly easy, so now I know when the time comes to solder the ribbon cables, I know how to disassemble it.

It’s really easy to swap out the cables. You got a great deal.

I got two systems (combined into one working one) and 8 games for ~$150. You should be able to beat that.

Got Mario Tennis in today from Ebay. Visuals and Audio work perfectly! No flicker or shaky immage *knock on wood*.

Now I can rest for a while.

I thought I would play this more often, but I can see how neck strain plays a role in the prolonged enjoyment of the console. I have it setup at my desk which looks nice at least for display.

when i have mine set up i’ll play it for hours at a time and i’ve never had a problem. what i found works best is a height adjustable chair (like a computer desk chair) and to angle the VB downwards, towards the desk.

I always play mine laying on my back, VB resting on my face & stand on my chest. It’d be fun if it wasn’t for all that terrible eye-strain, raucous headaches and subsequent speech-slurring that continues for HOURS!!

Kidding; I’ve never had ANY of that, idiots who talk about those things have never played a Virtual Boy!!!
