Hey everyone! I picked up a VB at a resale shop while on vacation, was really happy to find a working one for the price I got. Picked up Mario tennis and just got Galactic Pinball through mercari. Haven’t really had a chance to play with it too much, but I’m excited to delve in. Any suggestions for getting started? Tips for maintenance? Must have accessories? I have a hyperflash32 on the way, so hoping to make the most of that, and interested to learn more about the homebrew scene. Any advice would really be appreciated.

Welcome! You got the big piece already, a flashcart. Will help you enjoy the really hard to get games and homebrews.
These things don’t need a ton of maintenance. The big one is giving the displays a permanent fix, but you could do that whenever, if it’s working fine for now play it some and think about that when you’re ok with taking a break from it.

Must have accessories are mostly ones people make for themselves =P Carrying cases, dust covers, custom stands, there’s lots that can be done

What do you mean exactly by a permanent fix for the display?

The display ribbon cables are fastened by a glue, which tends to harden and fail over time. The fix the community has come up with is to get the ribbon soldered where it was once glued.

Basically, if you see any garbled or weird stuff happening on one or both of your displays that’s what’s going on.
