I bought myself a Retro Duo Portable lately. I played around with it for a while and it seems to work fine for SNES games. Even some of my PAL games work. They tend to get glitchy at some point but I guess I should clean the connectors.

I wanted to play some NES games today as the system comes with an adapter. I only own PAL games and somehow I can’t fit them into the adapter. Meaning, they physically don’t fit into the adapter because the card seems to be to big or something.

So is wondering if there a difference in size or shape between PAL and NTSC NES carts?

PAL and NTSC (america) NES carts are bigger than Famicom (Japan) carts.. but they are smaller and the card itself is more narrow, but theres no difference from one gray NES-cartridge from another.

Thanks, that’s what I was thinking as well… still, I can get any NES card into that damn adapter. I guess I will have to ask for an replacement…

Licensed PAL carts should be the same size. If you’re talking about HES carts or other unlicensed cartridges you might find some differences.

I have a handful of licensed PAL carts, a HES PAL cart and a few others along with all 677 US licensed, and loads of unlicensed, homebrew and converted carts.

What game(s) were you running into issues with?

I was talking about licensed pal cards. I have problems with every game including metroid and castlevania. I just wanted to make sure I don’t miss anything brfore I complain which I did by now. There is a replacement on the way so thanks for the quick responses.
