I’m not sure how many people already know this, but I just found out that Nester’s Funky Bowling has a secret hidden menu option that allows you to test all the sound effects, music tracks, and even all of the game’s animations and credits. Here’s how to enable this feature:

On the Automatic Pause Screen, hold “up” on both D-Pads while pressing both “L” and “R” at the same time, and the menu will appear under the automatic pause menu.

I didn’t see this feature mentioned in the game’s frequently asked questions or cheats section, but maybe it is and I just missed it?

This is the coolest! Shame I put out my video on the game when I did. This would have been helpful while recording for it lol.

We should start messing around on all Automatic Pause screens in every Virtual Boy game to see if we can find Hidden menus like this one for Nester’s 😉

I was thinking the same thing! Wonder if this is an anomaly or not? It almost seems strange it was never discovered because it really isn’t that complicated of an input like say, the Konami code, but I guess you are always trying to get past that damn auto pause screen as quickly as possible to start the game, so in that way, I see how it got missed.

I love when new stuff like this turns up in old games. Reminds me of the Punch-Out!! tells from the original NES game that have been discovered/revealed in the past couple years.
