So I just received a bundle from an auction. I knew from the description that this might be a US Nintendo employee demo unit. Upon receiving it, I was shocked at the serial number. It is VN100006285. If I’m correct, this is the lowest serial number according to our database. Also upon further inspection, there is a faint sticker residue on the front which appears to be where the “Property of Nintendo” sticker once was. Can someone confirm that this is the lowest serial number for me? Thanks!

Another interesting thing is that the hardcase has no sticker on the front nor inside the case. It looks as though there never was.

Message from the seller when I asked for a back story on the items: “I was the Nintendo rep and my oldest daughter is currently a rep in another state. I no longer work for the company as of Nov. 2013. The items I sell were items that I won; items that were given to me over the years, etc. Every time Nintendo came out with a new piece of hardware, they would send us one. Every time a new first party title was released, they would send a copy to the reps. The Virtual Boy was mine. I took it with me to my stores for about a month to demonstrate it to the store associates. Not every store wanted to look at it. After that, I put it away and never used it again, so it looks almost brand new. The stand is not cracked; it’s not dirty. I checked out all of the Virtual Boys that were available on ebay and I had the best one. It was shipped out today. Don’t hesitate to ask any questions.”

I was surprised as well. It must have been a Japan only thing?
