Been messing around with my Mr. Cart (32mb) in anticipation of the 128mb version, which I’ve already pre-ordered, because Kevin Mellott makes cool shit and I’m terrified of holding onto my own money.

I’m a ‘decent’ programmer, though I’m most experienced with C++, but I’ve been playing around with VUEngine Studio, and I’ve been doing a bunch of design documentation.

Jesus, I’m meandering.

Anyway, I’ve decided to create a top-down Zelda-esque VB game that I’m currently calling “Legal Imitation Nintendo Kid”, or L.I.N.K. I’ve spent the last four days tinkering, and although I literally have zero art assets, I now have a title screen and placeholder music, but the exciting part is that it’s working on real hardware, not just an emulator.

This is intended to be a long-term project, and I know it’s far too early for anything actually meaningful, but this is the very first thing I’ve programmed for someone else’s console, ie, NOT a PC with supercharged hardware.
