Ok, so I just busted out my virtual boy after a couple years of inactivity and for the first time it isn’t working properly. I am not sure though if its the same problem in the display as the rest though. So I am going to describe it and if somebody can help me out, that would be great!

When I turn the system on the display is fine for around a minute and then it gradually starts to scramble, vertical lines start to randomly appear at 1st. But then as it progresses it is hit and miss on how much better or worse it gets. But I have noticed that most of the lines seem to appear around the character that I am using. For example, when I play tennis most of the lines will appear where my character is and follow where ever i move it.

Thanks guys..

ps. I had no idea so many people were into these. In my little neck of the woods I’ve never met anyone else who has one. Everyone is always like I remember seeing them at the store but I never knew anyone who actually bought one, hah!

*** Been messing with it more and I am thinking that the right eye is down.

Definitely sounds like the typical display problem.

There is a thread called “The VB Glitchy Display Problem”, you know.

I think that all display problems (except unalignment) are caused by this — my VB occasionally shows weird images in the right display too, but I lightly tap my hand on it, and sometimes it works. I also have noticed that some games will have different display problems than others.

EDIT: Damn, DogP, you were 28 seconds faster than me! πŸ˜€

yeah, i am aware about the vb display glitch post. i just wasn’t sure if it was the same thing since my lines are coming in verticle instead of horizontal. thanks though.
and well i am also a little intimidated by the idea of opeing it up and placing parts in the oven. i just wanted a little confirmation first.

Heh, well to be fair, HorvatM’s reply was longer and more thoughtful than mine πŸ˜‰ .
