So, I want to buy a copy of Panic Bomber, and the JP version is the only one I can find really cheap for me, and I’d like to know how much Japanese is actually present in that game. Is it still playable if you don’t know Japanese?

Not much. The characters talk between battles but other than that its really easy to get around.
