Sorry if this has been posted hundreds of times before. I’m not necessarily asking what the best games are, more like what everyone’s favorites are, even if the game is not particularly good.

I ask because I have managed to fix my refurbed Virtual Boy and, for the most part, there are no graphics glitches in either display. I am absolutely loving my Virtual Boy, it’s so unique and fun to play. But, only 3 games (Mario’s Tennis, Teleroboxer, VB Wario Land), while all excellent, is limiting my VB experience. I’d love to get some more. I’m hoping to find these loose carts at some point (don’t care for cardboard):

3D Tetris
Galactic Pinball
Mario Clash
Nester’s Funky Bowling
Panic Bomber
Red Alarm
Vertical Force
(and the eyeshade/visor if I can find it)

I’m open to suggestions though.

Also, is it just me or is it easier to find CIB Virtual Boy games than loose carts?

Here are my favorites:

Space Squash- I loved the Japanese version, and obviously have been glued to the new English translation recently :). One of the better uses of the 3D effect, plus has lots of simple, old fashioned FUN. It reminds me of this game I used to play online back in maybe 2003. It was some flash-based thing, and basically played just like Squash. Amusingly, it was an all green and black game heh…

Bound High!- This was my first Uncle Tusker release, and it was great to return to the VB scene right when it came out CIB. I used to never think I would play it. Another simple but VERY fun game. A good game to use critical thinking on with some of the score attack maps, but also just zone out and drool over the 3D realism.

Galactic Pinball- It was my original favorite VB game, and recently since getting back into the system, has resumed its rightful place as my #1. Squash and Bound High are technically more fun to play, but I still spend more time with this one overall. It’s hard to put down when you start making progress on a table.

Jack Bros.- This game may have been the best ever if not for a couple things. I love the music, the fast-paced gameplay, the different characteristics of each Jack, the graphics, the (US) box art, the right D-pad controls…lots of fun for sure. I just wish it was a liiitle slower-paced, sometimes I have to rush around so much it doesn’t seem like I’m enjoying what each level has to offer. It would also be nice if there was a fourth character, Jack Falconer, who releases a bird of prey that would take out the Fairy that interrupts gameplay obnoxiously on almost every new level -.-

Okay not in a million years did I think I’d recommend “Waterworld” but after playing it a solid hour I can definitely say it’s like 3-D Asteroids (bigmak suggested that it’s like Asteroids and he’s totally correct).

It’s like a 3D Asteriods clone with full arcade styling.

But my TOP 10 list:

1) VB Wario Land
2) Bound High!
3) Panic Bomber
4) V Tetris (Japanese release only)
5) Jack Bros. (Japanese version is lower cost)
6) Space Squash (Japanese release only)
7) Mario Clash
8) Nester’s Funky Bowling
9) Teleroboxer
10) Waterworld (basically like 3D “Asteroids”, therefore more fun for me personally)

I personally don’t have a problem with water world. I guess they kind of slacked on some things on the graphics and music side, but as a game, I can definitely get some enjoyment out of it. And the two songs they did compose for it are actually pretty good.

After thinking about it Waterworld is actually “Asteroids” mixed with “Defender”, if you were flying a spaceship and changed the people into crashed shuttles and the smokers into aliens and asteroids then you’d have a solid concept of a arcade game. 🙂
