So the first time I use the program to flash a game onto the cart it works fine and takes about 2-3 min. The second time I tried the program froze at about 12%. After I closed it and tried again it doesn’t get past “erasing” even after half an hour. I went to my other computer and it flashed fine. The second time I tried on my other computer it also got stuck at “erasing”. I even restarted the computer but it’s just stuck there. Anyone else have this problem?

I’ve had usb’s seem not to work. If i use a longer cable..that’s caused plenty of problems..

Once I have a set-up that works..i’ve kept with it 🙂

i also noticed that various usb cables caused different results. i try to use the one provided by Richard.

I keep using the cable supplied with the cart by richard and still works.. so, use that or use as short as a cable you can find. 😀

Here’s the shortest cable I’ve found 😉

I made it out of a “dead” USB cable. It’s technically not a cable, since it’s simply a pair of connectors mounted back-to-back. Surprisingly, the FB even has trouble with this, sometimes (possibly the cable wasn’t “dead” but merely doesn’t always make good contact, which would of course carry over to this one).

Cable length is a factor only when the port used is no longer capable (atleast in my case). Laptop in corner, 3.5v powered usb hub running to powered port on keyboard, using cable supplied with portable HDD, flashes fine all the time.

i do not understand what you said. no matter the port i use the cable is always a factor. the only cable that has ever worked has been the one supplied by richard.

First, i’m sure your atleast using USB 2.0 ports.

Second, i did have issues with longer cables as well. I tried the cable supplied with a seagate freeagent go with success. Upon trying it with a USB extension, it failed to write half the time. I then used the cable attached to a powered hub with success.

what did you mean when you typed “the port used is no longer capable”? the way that is worded confuses me and i can’t understand what you are trying to say.

Meaning an old pci usb card/usb header may be at fault.

This is obviously less likely
