Hey all,

I haven’t had one game cart with failing saves yet, but someone is sending me a VBWL cart that has issues. So I want to replace it for him, but would prefer to put in a battery holder.

Anyone tried that yet and what is the CR battery in it? It is mounted upside down and do not have the cart yet, so can’t see which battery it is at the moment. I assume it is a CR2025, but not entirely sure.

CR2025 is impossible, too high, must be the CR1616

Did this with my Dreamcast, best idea ever. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work so long as the holder physically fits in the cart.

Yeah, that is going to be the issue, space in the cart. All of the holder I have come across will be too high to be on the board and in the cart. It would need to be outside of the board area which doesn’t sound like a good solution to me. Don’t like stuff floating around in a cart.
