Any fans of Rez on the forum? My other favourite console of all time is the Sega Dreamcast. Ever since I played Rez for the first time I thought some kind of version of it would work very well on the Virtual Boy. You may have heard Rez is getting a release on Sony’s new VR headset called Rez Infinite. This made me jealous and I wanted to do something about it.

So I got to thinking, since I can’t code I thought it would be fun to make some concept art. I used ms paint and photoshop to complete the job, and I am certainly no pro at the latter.

I had a lot of fun doing this. Someday I hope to contribute to the homebrew scene by making sprites or backdrops. Maybe even learn some coding. I am also a musician and would love to compose music for a game. I need to get reading through that development wiki

It looks damn good, great job lad πŸ˜€

That does look really good. That would be so bad ass to see on the VB =P

Now THAT is cool. Rez is one of my favorite games of all time. I think it would be awesome to hear the OST of Rez played through a Virtual Boy, if nothing else!

Great concept art. Dreamcast is one of my top home consoles with Rez being my favourite game on it. Rez on virtual boy would really work, with a black horizon you would get a great sense of flying into the unknown.

Thanks for the compliments and the great feedback everyone πŸ™‚ Glad you all share my love for Rez, and glad I could give you a little glimpse of my vision of what I thought Rez would look like on the Virtual Boy.

The Dreamcast may be my all time fave console, after the VB, of course! πŸ˜‰ And Rez was one of the best DC games. So damn cool.

In Japan, they released all kinds of peripherals we never saw in the US, but I had a friend in JP who sent me a ton of them. One was for Rez. It a small box – maybe half the size of a cigarette pack – that you plugged into the DC, and placed in your pocket. All it did was vibrate when there was an impact in the game. Totally pointless, but so cool. I may still have that somewhere – not sure.

these came out really well. part of making a game is art and it seems you have a good sense of the vb art style.

This is very neat! It definitely looks like it would work well in 3D, too. πŸ™‚

Maybe not *totally* pointless: NSFW Old article is old.
