The right display on my unit went completely out recently. Even after trying to re-solder the wires by melting the ribbon cable to expose them I was unable to get the display to work properly. It did come back on, however it’s solid red now and as long as it’s attached the left display goes glitchy.

Long story short, is is there any way I could either send my right display unit to someone for repair or buy another? I’d like to have the left unit “reinforced” as well as I’m afraid it’ll go glitchy sooner or later.

Thanks!

Ok, I was able to get it working again, however there are still a few lines that appear on that side. I’ll keep plugging away at it.

Still, I’d like to know of a source that I could buy a couple of extra displays. I’d be great if they’re already modified and reinforced, but original is fine too.

I had the same problem, but with the left eye. Its been dead for days but then suddenly one day it worked. Just be patient man.

Zubari95’s “wait and see” attitude unfortunately doesn’t automatically fix VB:s. I bought a cheap loose set from eBay, and despite not touching it for three months it still works poorly. 😉

I’m planning to open it up and fix it eventually.

There’s at least one guy that repairs these in his business, you have to search for him here, don’t remember the alias. Or try and google it. I think you can even ship loose displays and get a fixed pair back.

Then all of a sudden Deadly-D put down his bottle of wisky and turned to the gentlemen haven there little discussion in the old Virtual Saloon. He slowly got up and when he did some red trail dust began to stir on his hat. He walked over to a table that sat Guido Anchovy the kid, Doc e5frog and Jesse Zubari95 James and said “Pardon me. I couldn’t help but over hear your conversation, I believe the man your looking for is… Johnny Phantom.” The three men looked at each other with only there eyes for a second and before they could speak another word Deadly-D said “He ain’t been around these parts much. He’s been back east over there at them NintedoAge Forums likely got some new things goin. I reckon senden him a wire wouldn’t hurt.” Deadly-D knodded to the three card players and walked through the doors of the Virtual Saloon. They watched him get into his wire framed R-Wing and fly towards Mario Clash tower. THE END? 😛

then that there silly enthusiast who goes by the name of “gunpeiyokoifan” entered the Virtual Saloon, heard Deadly-D’s post, and laughed just like the way she did while playing Mario’s Tennis on her lil’ red partner 😀

Thanks for the heads up! Gonna contact the dude. I ordered a replacement right display off of eBay, but it’s got problems as well. 😕

I have heard most line glitches and such happen but leaving the system on 24-hours usually fixes them because it gets hot and heats the glue up itself. 😉

I can attest to the truth of that. I actually just posted recently that for the first time since I fixed my Virtual Boy using the Oven Method, which was around 9 months ago, I experienced my first display problem, which was that the right screen faded out extremely. I was playing Krisse’s VUE Snake game two days ago when this happened. After I took my screenshot of my high score, however, I forgot to turn off my Virtual Boy completely by accident, for I then went to my computer to transfer the picture and went to bed without thinking about my VB system anymore. It wasn’t until last evening that I found that I had accidentally left my Virtual Boy on for almost 24 hours. Sure enough, the right screen was just as bright as ever.

Seems that VB just doesn’t like being unplayed for awhile; but once it warms back up gameplay is fine again.
