Sebastian Mihai, software engineer from Canada, is running an interesting projects at the moment. He is creating software for classic game consoles and offers the complete sources and ready to use dev kits for download on his website, http://sebastianmihai.com/ccd/.

Current list of projects (alphabetically):
Atari 2600 / VCS
Atari 5200
ColecoVision
Game Boy
Game Boy Advance
Game Boy Color
Genesis / Mega Drive
Lynx
Master System
Neo Geo
Neo Geo CD
Neo Geo Pocket Color
NES / Famicom
SNES / Super Famicom
TurboGrafx 16 / PC Express
Vectrex
ZX Spectrum
and…
Virtual Boy!

His Virtual Boy project “Real Danger is a simple game in which you are controlling a rabbit, guiding him away from the diving eagles who are out to get him. The eagles get progressively faster. If the rabbit is caught, you can press A to try again. It is based on the gccvb dev kit.”

The dev kit used is the outdated 1.0 release of gccVB, but the game code is very clean and good for learning.

That’s a great idea I wish someone would have had a long time ago 😛

Someone should tell him about VBDE so he can update his page.
