Is there any chance that maybe someone on the forum could contribute one or more of his/her games from their collection to one on the forum to allow them to dump the games that have yet to be publically available ?

I think it would only be fair if :

1. We contributed money to the cause (or the VBer could just be a true friend πŸ˜€ )

2. Allow the game to only be downloadable here and only here to users registered 6 months or more w/ 10 posts(as i dont have yet.)

I’m not sure I get this.

me either

The games don’t lose their value! These prices are not paid because the buyer wants to play the game … he wants to have the original one!
Why do people pay such a lot of money for a VB Display System? If they want to play they would buy a normal VB. A Romdump has nothing todo with collecting. People who just want to play are no potential buyers!
Don’t trust me? Look how much people pay for the original “The Great Giana Sisters” game for the C64 or Amiga. You get the files everywhere on the net but the prices are still high!
It’s not about dropping prices! The owners paid such a lot of money that they don’t want us to play these games for free!
This would be no problem if there were so much games for the VB like for the C64. But there are only 22 games!
I get realy angry when I think about it! It’s not because of me – I am new in this forum and cannot donload dumps anyway!

There are only 22 games! Let us play all of them! Please!

my god…that brings a tear to my eye man. you couldnt of said it better and im in 100% agreement but now, the public has to wait on the flashboy unless u want to play SD:G on red dragon.

guys, the flashboy is finished! yep. i will do a review soon and let you know when and where it is available. πŸ™‚

Uh? Ahhh! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, yes, yes! πŸ™‚ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Yay! I love ROM carts – they make life so simple! Especially for my display systems, as I can have cartridges out on display so that people can see what they looked like, but those who want to play don’t have to figure out how to change the carts – they can just turn the system on and go!

I’m very excited about this… πŸ™‚

Now, if I could just get one for the Wonderswan that doesn’t stick two inches out of the system… >:(

Sweet! My only question is (and I’m sorry if everyone else thinks this is ridiculous) how much does it cost? I’d love to have one of these, but unfortunately, I don’t have much in the way of funding. πŸ™

Anyway, maybe if I can get one, I’ll learn C and join the dev scene. (If and when I have time. ;-))

Well, I believe the price must be set first. I think Richard H. has to think about it yet. I know what I would pay for it. πŸ˜€

good thing i didnt hold my breath ;P

just kidding, but really i am excited now. maybe this can be my excuse for more vb time even with college

A long time away the forum, and FlashBoy is a reality.
Maybe this can make me come back to the VB…

some news on that! richard and i have teamed up to sell the flashboy exclusivle on pvb. i will be soldering the cart connectors to the boards he sends me, cut the holes in the cases (for the usb plugs), place the labels, etc and taking the orders/sending the carts. together we can speed up the production process and make the carts a bit cheaper. a price is not yet set since we do not know all our costs yet, but around $90 seem likely.
i have 30 sealed vl baseballs lying around i can sacrifice for the project. when they’re gone we’ll see, maybe people have to send in an spare cart to be modified.
i will hopefully receive one unit next week for a first review. excitement. πŸ™‚

Chris,

Is it possible we can get some kind of preorder thing going on. This will revolutionize vb homebrew development greatly!! I totally dont want to miss out on this. What can I do to assure myself a cart other than beg? πŸ˜€

I’m second behind Raverrevolution! But now being serious, do NOT e-mail Richard H. regarding a “pre-order”. I did so the first time I saw about the Flash Boy, and his reply was this:

“Thanks, but I don’t take pre-orders for my stuff (don’t like the pressure).”

So there you go: if you want Flash Boy, do NOT put pressure on him (them if including KR155E), just wait and, when available, I’m sure you will be able to get one.

$90 is about what I was expecting. I think you’re going to run out of vl baseballs pretty quickly though, so offering a discount (maybe $10) to buyers who send in a game pak of their own might be a good idea.

I’ve been an unregistered lurker of Planet VB for years. Finally with all this talk about the Flashboy, I just had to come out of the woodwork and register to post my excitement! This is the most amazing news to come to the VB scene ever! I’m totally excited and can’t wait until orders are made available. I’ll definitely be waiting in line.

I’ve got a couple of VL Baseball carts laying around, so I’d be happy to send one over rather than having KR155E sacrifice one from his stock.

no preorders, just be quick once it is available. πŸ˜‰

i just opened the flashboy forum, and moved this thread to it.

ryucheese, don’t you want to sell me your spare games? we can do a deal so you get the flashboy cheaper. everybody else, who has spare games (preferably boxed and in very good condition) is asked as well. pm me. πŸ™‚

I may have a few baseball carts lying around if you need some.

ok. could you pm me what exactly you’ve got?
