So, I’ve never been able to collect a full library for a system. I am just 1 Virtual Bowling away from a complete US & JP VB set. I guess I can be happy that I’ve got a full US set, but my cup seems half empty–that set isn’t all that big… :]

$1225 for one game? http://www.ebay.com/itm/121164207477

I thought another one just sold on eBay for $1800 earlier this week, but it’s not showing up in eBay searches right now…?

It’s difficult to justify paying that much for one little game…2-3 times more than the cost of the entire rest of the library. I’ve bought cheaper pinball machines!

I find that the VB is sort of the red-headed (har!) stepchild of my collection. I hardly play it, & its big Blockbuster case doesn’t let me store it in the cabinets with my other games. I think I was collecting it mostly to have a complete set…which isn’t going to happen…

(Another recent frustration is being 1 game away from a full US TG16 set, which I’ll never complete either. Yup, Magical Chase. That’s hitting about $5k now. Silly. I passed up an opportunity to buy it for a few hundred $ at CAX about 3 years ago. D’oh!)

Anyway, I think I’ll be moving on. I’ll play it a few more times & then it’s time for a sell-off. I think I’ve gotten some pretty good deals, & some of the games seem to have appreciated, so I can’t complain about that! :]

Glad the community is going strong & that the homebrews are starting to really flow out–that’s awesome!

Thanks,
-Jason

PS–this isn’t a “sour grapes” whine–just a decision.

PPS–yes, I will entertain offers for anything & everything, but I’m pretty swamped right now, so it might be a slow process–it would certainly be easier to sell it all as one giant package, but I’m not shy about selling them off one by one either. :]

I’m sorry you feel that way Jason. With the link cable on the way and great homebrews like Guy’s FZERO demo and M.K.’s Hyper fighting I think we may be on the verge of a new age of Homebrew for our Red Friend.

you should keep your vb, ac adapter, and flashboy. everything you collected can be enjoyed with those things. the vb is such an interesting system that i feel it should be enjoyed and not collected and shelved.

You make a splendid point, Lester! Are the recent homebrews available as ROM downloads?

Any news or forecast on whether a multi-flash cart will ever come out for the VB? I guess I’m spoiled by having a console’s complete library on one flashcart for all of my other cart-based systems. :]

Thanks,
-Jason

everything is available as a rom. i don’t know if chris hosted everything under each game title on the site, but the threads for each topic should have the roms. the two english translations are just ips patches, which you can apply to the original rom.

in my mind it would make sense to make the money back and perhaps put it towards completing your tg16 collection.

apparently project vboot is back in consideration, but i’ve no idea if it will be completed.

Actually, you’d have to pay a good bit more for the full Japanese VB set, since you’d also have to acquire Virtual Lab to make it truly complete, or did you get it recently and not add it to your list? It’s rarer than Virtual Bowling, yet it usually sells for somewhat less since it isn’t as highly coveted. It can go for about $700 to $800.

Getting tons of PMs & offers. Started a thread in the Marketplace to cover the actual sale(s).

Thanks,
-Jason
