Feck thats a lot of cash for a non 3D experience on a PAL only tv, which is great for me from UK, but i doubt I’ll be making a bid.

Kinda looks official, I too am intrigued as to what this actually is.

Actually, if it’s a real “Video Adapter VUE”, it should have a red/green anaglyph mode (see the attached screen-shot of Red Alarm projected on a large screen at some expo). Perhaps that mode only works with the RGB cable he can’t get to work.

Also, it looks like he has a dev cart (auction has a screen-shot of the “Sample Soft” demo with the monkey and banana-pillar). It’s not included, but for that price it should come with at least one! 😛

Shipping is FREE

I like how FREE is all in capital letters. Yeah, it’d better be for that price, man!

Nice advertising the projector as being one in only two known to man when it says “Projector №12” on one of his photos. So there are at least twelve of those 😀

Actually, I would be very intrigued if somebody would auction it and put pictures and documentation up. One can still dream, right?

cYa,

Tauwasser

Well, there were at least twelve. Who knows how many still exist in working condition / not thrown away into the trash, though?

But you’re right, that’s a bit of a misadvertisement. Heck, I wouldn’t be surprised if this actually were to be a scam of some sorts.

Actually, he says it’s one of two “known to exist”, which implies that he’s talking about the ones in the hands of private collectors, but you do have a point (as does DaVince; about loss and destruction).

Besides, if you want to get technical, there’s been at least one made by an individual (DogP) which even has a few more features, so this really isn’t that impressive (although still quite interesting, especially as a collectible, don’t get me wrong). I think he’s asking a ridiculously too-high price, though. I think he’s just trying to get the highest “Make an Offer” he can, and I don’t blame him.

Amazing auction! But… $50,000? Paha. It’s worth maybe 1/20th of that. But it will be interesting to see for how much it goes, if it’s anywhere near a fraction of the asking price, I really need to put up my VUE Debugger. 😛

I am attaching the photos from the auction to preserve them and remind me to add them to PVB. 😀

Haha, i had just spotted that about 20 minutes ago and was about to post it but ya beat me to it!

Is this some official product or is this just made by someone who wanted to play it on the TV? it wouldnt be able to produce 3D would it like the emulators? it would just be red and black like the VB but on the TV with no 3d effects yeh?

50,000 dollars is alot!!! is it just the quality of the photo or is that a hint of yellow in the game when its on the TV?

Very interesting…

It’s the real deal by the firm who does all hardware debuggers for BigN.

cYa,

Tauwasser

That’s a pretty rad unit. If he decides to lower the price to a few grand or start it as an auction with no reserve, I’d seriously consider it.

Really? I assume they’re the same ones that have done a bunch of games for Nintendo platforms as well? (ie Galactic Pinball for VB).

In other words…these guys:

I’m surprised there’s no mention of hardware debuggers on the Wikipedia page…someone should update that! 🙂

Oh, they also program the DevKits. They supply code and hardware. Here’s a quick google for their game boy color hardware debugger: http://devkits.handheldmuseum.com/IS-CGB-EMU/index.htm

They also programmed software emulators for SNES and stuff. Being the internal dev guys for Nintendo must rule 😀

Well I hate to do it, but the time has come for me to sell off my collection. I already started posting on eBay. Here’s a list of some of the items. Waterworld, Wario Land and a handful of JP stuff will go up tomorrow. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a PM or email.

I’ve been away from the Virtual Boy scene for a while now, but boy do I want a FlashBoy 🙂

How much would space invaders virtual collection be worth?

Recently bought a VB (soon to get a power adapter) and I want to build a collection.

PS. maybe there are some collecters out there that don’t have the official earphones? Just found it, a bit to expensive for me though.

Sorry to say but if those earphone are too expensive for you then you might be surprised by the cost of some games, Gundam goes for silly money ($500 plus) Space Invaders is pretty expensive too ($150 plus) (I’m not totally up on prices for these, just from what i have seen on ebay)
I recommend a Flashboy, you can play all games on hardware and then only need collect the carts you really want rather than being tied to getting them all for a collection, just my own view as playing the games to me is the most important bit.

By the way top call on getting yourself a VB, welcome to a great site.

I’ll be posting a never opened, mint one of those on ebay, today or tomorrow, with the last of my collection. Hopefully this post doesn’t sound spammy. I just want my stuff to go to people who will look after it like I have.

Off to find out more info on another batch of FlashBoys. 😉

Well I don’t mind to spend 50 dollar on a good game, new or old, but it’s a bit to much for me to spend on earphones. But how much do you guys think the space invaders virtual collection is worth, the on of whom i posted ofto’s, highest bid is 90 euro’s for 3 days now. And yes, I’m waiting for a new flashboy batch and thanks for the welcome 🙂
Just wanted to start building a game collection and the virtual boy seemed like a nice device to it, flashboy will be to play all games and some of the homebrew.
