Those boxes are very hard to come by, given that the game was a system pack-in in the US without a box. I believe these US boxes were only printed and sent to Blockbusters that rented VB units, so they’d have something on the shelf for the game, too.

That’s right, but $207 is just crazy! I bought mine once for 12 Euro and recently sold it for not that much more. :O

Oh yeah, no question it was an insane amount. I was really surprised to see it shoot so high. Collectors can be an interesting bunch, though… 😉

The only thing I can think of is Waterworld, because of the boats. Maybe someone could think they were planes?

I would have guessed Red Alarm, but it’s already listed….going by what’s left of the (faded) sticker it’s definitely a US release though.

Wario Land, maybe? The title screen has Wario in his airplane… Otherwise, I’m going to have to go with Vaughan’s Waterworld theory.

Ohhh yeah, I totally forgot about the plane in Wario. If this is somebody who doesn’t know anything about VB they might have just booted it up and that’s one of the first things they saw. Surely they would have played at least long enough to catch the name though.

I think I’d pass, since the box looks pretty ragged, but if you’re just after the game, that’s quite a good price.

Probably not VB Wario Land, if you compare the bit you can see on the label to an actual Wario Land cart.

So he apparently has two copies of Vertical Force but he only bothered to list one and call the other one a “mystery game”?? That sounds fishy to me.

I think he was hoping for some extra excitement from the mystery but was honest enough to give a straight answer when asked directly…
