Do all of the 20-piece boxes that you know of look like the attached one?

If so, the only way that I could see 5 of these being packed into the 100-piece box is if 4 boxes were positioned upright, but then the 5th box would have to be positioned on its side. I guess it is possible that they could have done that, but I’ve never seen it done that way before.

Yes, they’re all this form factor. I don’t know what you mean by 4 upright and one on the side? I think all 5 would fit side-by-side if the side that your photo shows is facing upwards.

Yeah, I see that now. If it is true that this was a case of 5 20-piece boxes, then one can only imagine why the five 20-piece boxes were removed and/or sold separately, apart from the 20 CIB games that were in them.

TWO loose US versions of Lack Bros show up within hours of one another.

Interesting. I almost want to buy the one with the horrid lable just so I can finally read the dialogue… but no.

Some nerd like me probably asked them for the boxes for their collection. Either that or they used them to ship something else…let’s hope the latter is not the case! :'(

“..but no.” <- Makes me laugh! I still go through the same internal debates when I see these auctions. "No" usually wins that battle... 😛

I saw this today on ebay:
http://www.ebay.nl/itm/2-3D-WalkiTalki-Goggles-made-by-Micro-Games-America-Virtual-Boy-Wario-1995-/190801476137?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c6ca77a29#ht_500wt_1414

I haven’t got any idea what it is and how it is really related to the VB but tought others might be interrested

I just reported this one. This is total search manipulation, that normally only means that the seller is unreliable at best.

It was removed because the title of the auction had Virtual Boy and Wario in it while it had less than nothing to do with both.
The auction contained two see through glasses, which couldn’t have been 3D since it was just one allover screen, type head mounts. They were set at $25 so it could never have been anything interesting if someone also tried to fool people in thinking it had anything to do with the VB or Wario.

I posted in the Marketplace, but then I noticed this thread.

I’m selling a VB head unit only, w/ displays fixed via soldering: http://www.ebay.com/itm/111028252713

Thanks,
-Jason

It sold for $51 + shipping.

I have 1 more VB Head Unit in similar cosmetic condition, with the same solder fix on the displays, performed by the same person.

The only difference with this second unit is that one of the displays was still a little touchy (tapping/pushing the cable would result in glitches), which I believe that I remedied by laying down 2 more beads of hot glue to immobilize the 2 end connections from not flexing when the IPD is adjusted.

Selling for $47 + shipping.

Pics attached. No, Space Pinball is *not* included! ;P

Thanks,
-Jason

Virtual lab in a oction start on 500 yen ( about 5 $ )
http://page2.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b143567534

Is it just box & manual, or is the cartridge included?

It’s a bit unclear to me from Google’s Japanese-to-English translation:

“Box, with instruction manual, is the Virtual Boy Nintendo Virtual Lab software VIRTUAL LAB. There is no software on the NES. Unused. Behavior, such as a battery backup check is not done. Is a product of many years ago.”

The first Japanese sentence indicates that it is an auction for the Nintendo Virtual Boy software: Virtual Lab, along with instruction manual and box. So to answer your question, the auction description indicates that the cartridge is, in fact, included. The second Japanese sentence is a bit odd, and it strongly seems to be the seller saying that the item is not Famicom (NES) software. Perhaps he is afraid that some people might confuse Virtual Boy software with NES software, so he wanted to make the point extremely clear.

You don’t find lab’s for sale often. I’d almost say it’s rarer then bowling 🙂 but I might be the only one that thinks that…

If it stays under $250 anyone want to assist me in buying since I have no idea how to use Yahoo Japan?\

And Is there a good tutorial out there on how people in the US (who Japanese do not speak) could propperly use Yahoo auctions JP?

Well, it is already up to over $320, and I expect it to jump up a lot from there.

Basically, perform a Google search for Yahoo Auctions Japan Proxy service, and you should find multiple proxy services that do all of the bidding on Yahoo Auctions Japan for you. They should all reveal their fees and bidding services, so you can shop around and choose the one that you like best. Best of all, the necessary information that each service provides should already appear in English.

I’ve already been outbid at 40000 yen

probbely price will go up to above 65.000 yen iff i see how bidding go and look to the condition of the box

its a long time ago i have seen one for sale

If a resident of Japan is participating or plans to participate in the auction, then he or she might be comparing prices for a new copy of the game on other sites, in which case anything under 128,000 yen could be considered a “better” deal to him or her:

Actually, the second one listed on this page says it includes the instruction manual and box along with the software:

and it is listed for 75,000 yen plus shipping.

So, Who Just scored that loose copy of Innsmouth no Yakata for $60? I was tempted, but I really want the box too.
