Haha, I’ve seen this. Yeah, it’s some custom head strap he made. If you look closely there’s velcro glued on the VB head unit.

LOL, $200 for Faceball Remastered? You can still get it for $80 in Tusks shop. He could have been a bit more specific in the item descriptions.

I just saw this after making a topic for it.I think there need to be a update to the listing. It is very misleading.

What he writes isn’t really wrong (except for using NTSC as a synonym for an english/american release). He doesn’t mention that it is a fan translation and custom box/manual. However, he is not very specific in his other auctions as well.

He is asking for very high prices. However, he has the “best offer” option enabled.

The general problem is that Tusks repos just look to close to official releases. That’s why I wrote very clearly on the back of the Faceball Box that it is a Rom-Hack. I’m really curious if someone will pick it up for that price.

This whole thing makes me sick. These people trying to profit off of other peoples hard work and posting them as official releases is just wrong… I really do enjoy the official look of tusks releases but seeing stuff like this makes me think we need to completely change the boxes and either have homebrew or reproduction in bold print on the boxes. At least with Timewalk releases, people have the decency to state what they are.

I dont know the seller but i fink its sad he is selling his games. But lets FAce it. He has payd fore them and now he Wants to sell them.

I fink its ok but he should have more info about the items.

Even if they are repros they are rare.

I dont wish to have boxas with big letters staying repros on them. If its on the back of the Box i dont care. I dont want to see this aution hase the power to change design on future boxes.

Anyway dident a nother repro of gundam ended in a price of 300$ :-/.

Well i hope fore more repros 🙂 thanks fore the great work 😀

I don´t think that bold letters would change anything. If someone does not know where to get that stuff cheaper that person still might pay more. I see that also a lot with Vectrex stuff and especially flashcarts. I try to educate people in my videos as good as I can, but the question is always if the potential buyers even look in Google before bidding on those items.

you buy goods, and then sell them. it is your right to make a profit. asking whatever you want is your right. uneducated consumers or impulse buyers may pay more than the value. i’ve been buying and selling collectibles for 30 years and this is the nature of the market place.

profiting off the hard work of others is the way capitalism works. i’ve got no issues with that or the price the seller is asking.

with that said, not including pertinent information such as that it is a reproduction cart that contains a fan-translation is misleading. this is unethical.

Cool! The Japanese at the top of the instructions says “Hudson Iron Print”

Really curious if that blurry bit over top of the “Bomber Man” logo says “Virtual” =P

That iron-on thing looks cool! I’m not bidding as i’m low on funds rightnow but.. geez.. looks cool!

VERY nice – I don’t think I’d seen a Japanese version of that demo unit before, I guess I never noticed 😀
