Just wanted to quickly inform everyone of a USB-C cable I bought for my Nintendo Switch while it’s inside the Virtual Boy accessory. I looked for one that would hang out the side of the stand’s clamp and came across these ones being sold by JUXINICE. (Link to the Amazon page.)

I’ve only used it a few times as of now but it has worked for both charging and wired controllers. The field of view is only shifted slightly upward by the cable so I have no issue seeing the entire screen through the lenses. The Switch 1 with the Switch 1 bracket attached and the Switch 2 with the Switch 2 bracket get raised enough that it keeps the lid open, which of course doesn’t affect gameplay but it’s still something I wanted to note. If you use the Switch 1 with the Switch 2 bracket however it DOES allow the lid to close, but this comes at the cost of the console being more loose inside which can be annoying. In any configuration though the console will wobble a bit more since it’s now balancing on the connector, so you’ll need to make sure you keep it steady. Personally I’ve not had any issues with keeping it steady but your mileage may vary.

Here are some photos of the cable and it being used with my Switch. I’m not sure what the quality control on these cables are like so I want to show what my working ones look like in case someone gets sent a different one.

Just made a major edit because I somehow missed the Switch 1 bracket in the box and had been using my Switch 1 only with the Switch 2 bracket attached. Whoops! Now that I’ve used it I updated the OP with my results regarding it. Though knowing now that you can easily replace the bracket, I wonder if someone could make a custom bracket with a flush USB-C male to female integrated into it. That would solve the issues with the open lid and the wobbling console.
