Mednafen emu could supports Custom Palette VB.PAL

Then we can edit that file and put new 4 colors to VirtualBoy monochrome

[Yes, to make something similar to “CP/Mbox” , you know? Habisoft’s Amstrad Pcw Emulator. Monochrome Computer, but now with color option on emulation (and future fpga add-on board to output color video) ]

Hi can you please make the file public? I want it but it dont appears if you added it

Hi! enderRaltor , here you have my first attempts of VB.PAls
Notice that here are one palette file for one game. I choose that colors but you can change it with a hex editor.
(I use imHEX cause shows hex colors on screen.)

Put VB.PAL files in mednafen palette folder… you can put the same name for game and palette and starts with that palette.

SuperVirtualBoy with 4colors palette it is allowed nowadays with Virtual Tap or Mednafen emu.
Furtekk said ” … the palettes can be customized( …) but keep in mind that the color resolution is low so the color choice is basically limited to the same palette the Sega Master System had.”

Mednafen wants a VB.PAL file of 768bytes/256colors but I think the system (virtual boy) doesn’t use all of that bytes. I’m mapping that… for example background color is the first triplet rgb hex 00 00 00 (black) or you can choose other…

These v0.1 only has 4 colors but some software use more palettes/brigtness (“Vertical Force” gives you info about palette color use in options). More colors in future PALs .
“INSMOUSE NO YAKATA” use 8 colors

I use Mednafen/Mednaffe for sVB.
This winGUI only works for me with windowed option. And it´s needed to move window to one screen view. Before I expand view to my screen dimensions (scaling x , y axis) and I prefer filter/shader of scaleX2
