Someone with an Oculus Rift managed to get VBjin working on it: http://youtu.be/9qqH_L8H-7s?t=3m15s

Given the $300 price of the unit vs. the ~$100 price of a functioning VB on eBay, seems a bit silly, but it might be less of a pain than working on a unit with glitchy displays, heh.

that’s pretty cool to the point that i would like to experience it. is there any more info on how it works, what he is using, how it was accomplished it, is it a special build, etc?

He didn’t say anything but you can see that he simply runs the emulator in side by side mode. This is pretty cool as you could use mednafen to play pretty much every vb game.

Hi! I am the guy from the video you posted!

I am using an updated/modified version of the emulator VBjin, called VBjin-ovr. Really easy – select oculus rift mode from the menu and load the rom!

It works extremely well, to the point that I had a 3 hour session with pinball and red alarm. XD There is no head tracking of course, but the image fills your vision and the old school graphics look sharp. The 3d is spot on for most titles.

That’s awesome! Thanks for stopping by! It was really cool to see someone check out a lesser-loved system in a new way like that. 😀

Welcome to the forums! You should try out Bound High if you haven’t yet. 🙂

Cool that it fills your whole vision, even the VB doesn’t do that. Just looks like you are staring at a small 3d box.

Just curious, did you get your Oculus Rift via kickstarter, or were you involved in the development of it?

Hey everybody! XD

Thanks for the welcome!

Virtual Boy games on Rift are freaking sweet, I hope Nintendo makes some official releases once the consumer version of the Rift comes out. I have not tried Bound High yet, but I certainly will give it a shot.

I pledged on Day 1 of the Kickstarter, so I received my Rift pretty early. I am not affiliated with Oculus, I am just a guy having fun and trying to make informative videos.
